okay so I'm pretty sure @/stoat.chat's new gifbox website was designed using AI, I tried to bring this up in their official server and they threatened to ban me for talking about the concern so I'm pretty confident that it was at the very least designed by an artificial intelligence, aka genAI

Hello hello! Welcome to my profile! This is the home of my antics and shenanigans I commit in my spare time.
Hey @luke.kanies.com, you say this in your blog post about permissioned data, paraphrased: "I think [permissioned data] is a silly name, and it should just be called “private data” ... because it describes user behavior instead of technical implementation, which is a far better naming practice"
Couldn't agree more on this. Em's thread is a must-read!! 💖🧵
Said something interesting to a friend today when they asked about different open social web protocols. It might be a little bit controversial, but: I think that ActivityPub is decentralized in principle, whereas AT Protocol is decentralized in practice. 🧵
A behind-the-scenes experiment testing the limits of how much debris Brickadia can render!🌪️
is there any reason why there isn't a single decent website that supports my friends being able to remote control my buttplug.io devices. i feel like im going insane because how is that not a thing yet. the best i found was a website that barely worked for that kinda stuff in the first place
Current platforms are trying to be the only place you hangout. In the real world, we call that a trap. Bluesky is a distribution engine — we send people to off platform experiences. Go read that blog on @beehiiv.com or watch the livestream on @stream.place.
Newly available on early access 🎉 📄 Standalone pages 🧱 Reusable components 🧭 Custom navigation If you're on the Offprint Pro plan, you can head over to your pub settings to enable these features. They are experimental, if you find issues let us know! 👀 Check it out → offprint.link/early-access
Existing communities on Discord shouldn't have to choose between the critical mass of members they've built up on the legacy platform versus the agency afforded to them by @roomy.space Introducing Roomy's first premium feature: Discord-Roomy bridging! 🌉 (free for non-profits)
A bridge beyond Discord
Millions of digital communities have already made a home for themselves on Discord, and we'd rather not force them to make a binary choice between the critical mass of members they've built up on Disc...

It's been almost a week since we announced Roomy's general availability and we've definitely got some stuff to fix! We'll be trying to make some development notes as we go, and here's the first one.

bold statement. i support the cause
fully agree. to this effect we also need to abolish dickpics taken on the toilet
Writing this down as a note to myself; I need to write up a blog on how we can brand the atmosphere as effectively as possible, along with attaching as many UX design ideas on how to communicate the concept of the AT Protocol ... also maybe standardize a few key terms we've all been using
This is a tone-deaf take on artificial intelligence and vibe coding; the problem isn't the LLMs, it's the fact that they made a lot of developers complacent, which in turn made them care less about their code, and in the process, just leads to far more severe bugs rearing their ugly heads today. 1/2
You're right. It's vibe coded. There weren’t any problems with content overflowing their container until LLMs took over. In fact, software bugs famously didn't exist before 2017. Those 1970s papers about software quality were actually the first large scale fictional collaborative writing project.
This was a team effort, and @zicklag.dev & @meri.garden really pulled through on getting it to exist. Now that it's "real," I think there's a lot of leeway in how things get to move! So excited to see where things go. Willing to bet that in a year, Roomy will be a legitimate alternative to Discord!
hey so, @roomy.space is now generally available for real-world use! 🥳 make atmospheric group spaces for friends & community, chat in real-time, progressively structure emergent topics into evergreen threads and cultivate enduring knowledge.

When @bsky.app pulls this kind of crap often, whilst also expecting the community to do the heavy-lifting in actually convincing people to try out the AT Protocol... it's really difficult to feel hopeful about the future of Bluesky and its constituents. I imagine many agree with this stance.
Bluesky’s statement deriding Threads users as “guinea pigs” is not representative of Blacksky Algorithms, the atproto ecosystem or the open social web more broadly. Communities form around communication networks. And communities should never be trolled for whatever tool helps them find each other.
@aendra.com Might if I shoot you a DM, either here or Discord? I need some help with labeling. 👀
@offprint.app @aka.dad qq: what's the policy on NSFW content? Didn't find anything regarding this in the ToS. Am I allowed to publish posts that have adult content in them? Or am I SOL on that front?
Screw it, taking the plunge and getting an annual @offprint.app subscription to motivate my ADHD self to start writing blogs on the AT Protocol. Thanks for the discount @bsky.app! 🤝
After thinking about this question all weekend, I think my favorite candidate is the alchemical symbol for air: 🜁 It’s connotes both atmosphere and “transfer”. It’s a standard Unicode character. It references a capital “A.” And it’s very simple, which feels appropriate for a protocol, like 🌐 or 🛜.
We need an Atmosphere logo
