Job offer says: Send CV and cover letter, both mandatory. About 20% of candidates don't send cover letter, automatically scored 0 points. If you have 10 resumes to read I might go fish out the files from the server, just in case, but if when I have over 100 applicants per position...just can't.

This story keeps giving. A scientist decoded birdsong with AI. We now know what signals they use. We now know they confuse signal semantically not phonetically, meaning they build mental models of their world through song. THEN WE ASKED THEM TO CORRECT US BECAUSE WE KNEW HOW TO TALK TO THEM.

Modern AI resulted from research made also by many non-US scientists (Hinton, the French folks, Linnainmaa, many others). The pre-training corpus was produced worldwide with massive code contribution from Europe OSS. What is happening with frontier LLMs is unacceptable.

A future Dem government should nationalize SpaceX and rip it away from Musk. He gets NOTHING in return and the US gets its NASA investment back.
