Architect Alfred Waterhouse, Liverpool-born Quaker, died on this day 1905. Buildings include Manchester Town Hall, London’s Natural History Museum, Liverpool University's Victoria building. His love of red brick and terracotta led to him being nicknamed 'Slaughterhouse Waterhouse'.
