Maybe it's 1am at a hotel after a long, hot, stressful day, but the closet curtain truly looks like several haunted froggies and makes me laugh.
We had to temporarily relocate to not destroy the only window AC we have trying to make a top-floor brick apt habitable at a heat index of 106f/41c (it didn't). Luckily, we found a steal about 10 miles away. Now the dogs own the bed and the cats keep visiting us in the bathroom like helpful docents.

The cats' next checkup is with a new (to them) vet that was great with our dogs and they're so thoughtful that they have you fill out a form to introduce your pets. Which really boiled down to "Jiji loves everyone and everything! 😽💕🤗" vs "Nix is an acrid ball of rage over any minor inconvenience.🤞"
Instead of taking a long park hike today, we did the entire circuit of the big hardware store a few times, and did some positive training around novel noises, tight places and crowd control -- which hardware stores are great at --and the pups were rockstars! Luna did shit herself but who hasn't.
What's my latest little demon guy do? Wash berries!* 🫐 *(In theory, I need to actually get berries.)
Stiffler got honked at for doing absolutely nothing wrong and they are very silly about that sort of thing and rationalize it quickly and laugh about it, whereas when the guy pulled up next to us I gave him my righteous indignation lazer You-Scared-My-Fam Stare 👀 and he backed off IMMEDIATELY....!!

The hell is that brain thing where when bad things happen, it's a total "meh," and yet, when good things happen, you feel like shaking and crying? Anyway, all's great, which makes me alarmed and confused.
Everyone is extra delighted that Jiji joined us on this park trip (Nix does not like the outside, he was *Bane Voice* born in it, molded by it).
I was refilling the water bowl while Luna was drinking out of it and a tiny bit of water sprinkled on her face. She jerked back and slapped the bowl before going back to drinking, and something about seeing a curly, happy-go-lucky muppet get briefly enraged by an inanimate object made me feel seen.
My emotional rollercoaster of confusion, delight, gut-wrenching existential horror, dread, disgust, more confusion, then whimsical appreciation has caused my brain to dub these as adorable babies. I love them.

Every time we come back to the car from a hike lately, there will be a spider of some kind perched on the car, waiting to ride along. It's like word got out that we're the Spider Bus and they hop on to get shuttled to the suburb-insect buffet. On the upside, cute, and also, so few pests out back!
