highly anecdotal, but I've been getting the growing sense that certain demographics are just kinda over social media more broadly
Bluesky’s active user base is shrinking as its focus expands beyond the app
this is why we cant have nice things pay your artists, pay your craftsmen
As long as you're enjoying drawing that's all that matters
Here you are folks. Limited edition TG poster to support this wonderful magazine. @electronicsound.bsky.social electronicsound.squarespace.com/shop/p/throb...

The slow return of puritanicalism is a plague.
‘ONE NIGHT ONLY’ director Will Gluck says they cut out “so much nudity” from the film because he thinks audiences dislike sex on screen. “Whenever people now see nudity or very adult situations in a big theater, they get uncomfortable.” (Source: variety.com/2026/film/fe...)
It was impossible to cram in everything Káryyn and I talked about in this feature, but her story is an important one and is entirely intrinsic to her music and 'Physics Universal Love Language (Pull)'. It's an absolutely fantastic album as well.

Was more pleased than I should have been to see teenage skateboarders smoking fags. Bin off the vapes.
Absolutely stunned about Kavinsky. RIP. 'Nightcall' is one of the reasons I do what I do. Don't even know what to say.
There are two more wolves inside me, and they're constantly fighting over whether it's more annoying to drive through Ilkley or drive through Leeds (but agree never to drive through Bradford).
I'm super into tapes at the moment and I really wanted to release my own. This is also a 100% fleshmade project. I did the music, the design, the art, the backstory, everything, myself.
I've made an album of moody, atmospheric music inspired by cult synth movie soundtracks, presented as the lost score to a doomed sci-fi film. Listen to it, read the track titles, and imagine the movie in your head. Available digitally or physically on cassette tape! 🔗 numinalvoid.bandcamp.com
If you'd like to help me clear some room before the next slew of satan stuff arrives (which will be sooner than you think), you can now take 20% off a No Knock No Doorbell tape. Just bang 'noknocktapes' at checkout: worriedaboutsatan.bandcamp.com/album/no-kno...

Was looking for a service manual for one of my tape decks and found this incredible website. walkman.land It rules that hyper niche, unique looking, single purpose sites still exist in this web hell.
It's so indicative of the state of this country, that I keep seeing folk pushing 40 being referred to as "young people".
snes, ps1, gamecube, dreamcast, ps2 are all defunct consoles. they no longer require any kind of licensing to make games for them Id love to see a blossoming of GOOD unity/godot tools and exporters for those consoles, so that homebrew can evolve beyond random curiosities into more full games
basically the whole mainstream internet is bad now - if you have a career that means that for whatever reason you have to promote your work online, you're going to have to make at least a couple of choices you feel a bit shitty about, you can't really hate all the players while ignoring the game!
screengrabbing as don't want to beef but - as someone who does have a Substack - there's also a point at which writers have to pay the bills! you can't ethically be on Twitter anymore and you can't ethically write for most publications and Substack does what it does best, sadly - we have to eat!
Little bonus for today: Vol I - II - III of my Odyssey of Noise series are ‘name your price’ (aka free) for 24hrs occamslaser.bandcamp.com/music ⛰️🗼🤺 Not doing this out of the kindness of my heart... Just hoping you get hooked & feel the compulsion to check out Vol IV - V - VI
Really interesting thread, if not slightly alarming. I'm flattered that at 34 I'm still considered a Young Adult, but I'm not sure what that says about the health of our society (I have lots of thoughts about this that are too long for Bluesky).
As an ex media report I can't help looking at the BBC Annual Report, it's a habit I cannot kick, I'm going to stick some things I've noticed in a thread. The tldr to my mind is if you're at the BBC and you're not panicking and trying new stuff and tuning out low level moans you're screwed. 🧵
Heatwave has clearly done a number on me when "23 degrees and a breeze" is giving me the chills.
A cold take here and furious with myself that it's taken me this long to catch up, but Mackenzie Crook's 'Small Prophets' is very very good.
It’s very funny that all indications are that an adaptation of Homer could be one of the biggest movies of the year with both critics and the box office and this is universally interpreted as a catastrophe for the conservative right because they’re poisoned themselves against culture
The latest Happening Again went out last night and it's accidentally a bit of an ambient issue again. Featuring the new records by Fief, @huntercomplex.bsky.social, as well as revisiting Bill Nelson's 'Chance Encounters In The Garden Of Lights'.
