The Odyssey was fun but you just know that Hollywood is going to release some pointless prequel telling you what every ship that went to Troy was called or something.

Mayo have lost 11 All-Ireland Finals since the curse began. They won 5/13 National Football League titles in that time. Taking base probabilities from this, the curse is statistically supported. I don’t know how to factor their winning this match (after the curse was lifted) into my model though.

Is AI rapidly concentrating epistemic and political power in the hands of a small number of companies many of which have aligned themselves with authoritarian governments?

My department is hiring a lecturer or senior lecturer in philosophy. It's an open call in terms of research specialization, but we're keen to hire someone whose teaching/research speaks to PPE in some way. This is a great job in a great department. Please help me spread the word!

In the spirit of Roger Scruton, I feel it’s best to be up-front about my fees. So if tech companies are following, I’ll write articles arguing: Language models are moral agents: £5000 (+£2000 for patienthood) Running PyTorch makes GPUs feel pain: £7000 NLTK toolkit was always sentient: £10,000

If any tech companies want to give me an obscene amount of money to be their in-house philosopher and to argue that AIs have developed extrasensory perception, just get in contact.

Does anyone else feel like the past/present perfect tense of 'row' is 'row'n'? e.g. she has row'n her boat to Hawaii. Please tell me there is some dialect where this is the case.

Surprised that no other major film has decided to pair its release with The Odyssey. Moana could have marketed itself as the alternative aquatic-wanderer-who-meets-a-god-film.
