Imagine if you mailed the IRS a check to pay your taxes, but they left their mail unopened for years and then arrested you for failure to pay taxes. That’s effectively what ICE is doing to increasing numbers of people now; people out of status only because of GOVERNMENT delay.

Maricela Rueda and Zachary Evetts are being held in administrative seg yet they have no disciplinaries against them. They need to be placed in general population immediately. Are you aware that cross gender strip searches are a PREA violation? (wait for response). Then why are female guards bragging about stripping down male bodies? Why has Benjamin Song been strip searched by a female guard who later gave Song a disciplinary? Meagan Morris needs to be put in general population. As a trans woman, she is vulnerable being in a cell by herself and needs to be with other incarcerated people who do not have such power over her body.

While appealing their unjust federal verdicts and sentences, these 8 defendants will also have to fight their state cases in Johnson County. We still need good state lawyers to fight these cases so continue to donate to the legal fund, host fundraisers, and spread the word about the case. One of the state defendants, Janette Goering, wrote a statement about the sentencing of the federal defendants. Please keep watching for the Prairieland defendants' state trials. 20 people have state charges related to this case. While today's federal sentences are horrific, they are not the end. Texas also seeks to make examples of the Prairieland defendants, but we cannot let them. This fight is not over.

Like a lot of small businesses in our region, Firestorm has been in financial distress for the last year. Hurricane Helene was our tipping point, but local cost of living increases, inflation, and higher occupancy costs are huge contributors. 1/9

This post is very popular on Reddit today and I figured some people here might like to see it TL;DR a woman was detained by ICE and later one of the detaining officers reached out to her in and attempt to take her on a date He said she he found her attractive because she was "cute" and "obedient"

I was detained by ICE, one of the agents asked me out on a date and I feel scared I (26.f) am originally from Russia (Russian mom/Ukrainian dad) and a couple weeks ago at a Target parking lot, I was on my phone speaking in Russian to my mom when two guys in masks, wearing Border Patrol uniforms stopped me. They asked if I spoke English, I said yes, demanded to see my ID so I gave them my driver's license and passport card. They asked me questions like what am I doing here, what is my legal status (yes I am a citizen but they should have known that given I just gave them my passport card), what do I do for work (I work for the VA) and how long I've been here, etc. They told me to sit and wait in the back of their vehicle while they checked my IDs. While I was detained, one of the agents who stopped me told me to unlock my phone and give it to him so I complied. He checked it for a few minutes then gave it back to me. Now last Thursday night, last week, I got a text from a number I didn't recognize but as I was expecting a call that week, I answered it. When I answered the guy on the other line asked me "am I speaking with [my name]" and I said yes. He then tried making small talk, asking how my day was, etc and I answered his questions. I then asked him who he was and how he got my number but he seemed to try and dodge those questions. He then asked if I'd be free on Friday night or Saturday night. I told him something along the lines of "maybe but I don't know you". I then pressed him again, asking him how he got my number, how does he know me, etc. He then admitted that he was one of the Border Patrol agents who detained me and checked my phone. He went on to say that when he was going through my phone, he noticed I had Bumble and Tinder so thought he'd just take my number and try to contact me directly.
