If you exposed someone from 100,000 years ago to these wonders of the modern world, they’d be amazed by blue LEDs, canola oil, and mattresses and horrified by step incest.

I love re-upping this: for decades the main library at UCLA had the generic name University Research Library because the person most responsible for getting it built was an English professor named Hugh G. Dick and the university refused to name it after him.

It’s sort of strange that jetpacks are basically real now and they also haven’t made much of a splash because they’re weird and awkward looking and not that useful outside of limited military/emergency stuff.
Democrats have never nominated someone to the left of Biden. Maybe Harris but I don’t think so.

BREAKING: The U.S. Department of Justice announced on Friday that it reached an “agreement” with Mount Sinai Health System in which it will “cease providing” gender-affirming medical care to minors and dedicate $2 million to providing care to those “suffering harmful consequences” of such care.
Oh of course. The DSA chapter trying to make Long Beach Transit free also wants to get rid of all the speed cameras because they "prey on the working class". 🤦

I’m watching last week’s Friday Night Baseball game on my Apple Vision Pro. Very cool. For each interesting play, I’m going back a couple times to look at a different part of the field.
A lot of people in lefty circles are weird about her the way they’re weird about Pete B. She’s kind of a living refutation of the idea that trans people *cant* have careers in mainstream national politics, and that threatens people pushing for revolution or bust.
Something I don't entirely understand is that this woman's career is deeply inspirational, and she's gonna have stuff named after her for her courage for decades to come. And yet you basically never hear her discussed as a trailblazer and role model in lefty settings. It's really fucking weird!

That's very untrue. Steinem once told Terry Gross that she didn't marry until her sixties because "first I had to reinvent the institution of marriage." Women had no economic equality in the workplace, no equal access, no right against marital rape, sexual harassment...
A practical channel for putatively legal purges: revoke musk’s clearance, prosecute officials and contractors who still have clearances who leak things to him (this will 100% happen).

He has a 1st Amend right to be a Nazi, but he’s a security risk and should have his govt security clearance and contracts revoked.
