Susan Collins announcing she'll vote against a controversial nominee is basically the moment it becomes clear that nominee will be confirmed. It means Thune has enough votes to confirm, and thus, Collins gets a pass to look independent.

Well, the FCC Commissioner has made the decision, first announced in an op-ed in Breitbart, stating that a regulatory body does not have to observe laws made by Congress if they don't feel like it. Every month is new and unprecedented territory. docs.fcc.gov/public/attac...

Depicting Jewish people with horns is a centuries-old, dehumanizing, antisemitic trope. Democratic Gov nominee Phil Weiser is outspoken about his mother’s birth in a Nazi concentration camp, his family members killed in the Holocaust, and the threat posed by antisemitism today.

During his last session in Congress Flake was the 3rd most conservative member of the Senate.

Before John Cornyn got to Congress he served as a state district judge, a Texas Supreme Court justice, and the Texas Attorney General, so I’m pretty sure he’s aware that other types of evidence exist besides witness testimony, and in fact testimony is the *least* reliable form of evidence.

There is pervasive corruption across our healthcare and agricultural systems that defy party lines. I meet with MAHA activists because a lot of their concerns are bipartisan issues that major corporations paint as partisan. The fight isn't left and right, it's top and bottom.

Watergate was a harmless prank, in terms of the scale of illegality & constitutional violations, compared to this. Again, this is the most basic "do we live under a functioning constitutional order?" type of stuff. The answer, sadly, is no, because this hasn't immediately ended his presidency.

1. There was no adversity (court said so); So there is no settlement. 2. The court ruled plaintiff = defendant. You can't have a contract with yourself. So there is no contract. 3. Even if there is a contract, it is illegal under IRC 7217; Courts generally don't enforce illegal contracts.

Since a lot of people seem confused: Saying “AIPAC sucks” is not antisemitic (and I agree, they do). Calling a candidate “AIPAC powered” when they haven’t taken money from AIPAC (or one of their subsidiaries) because they’re Jewish is.

It's absolutely insane we've somehow let the Covid recriminations debate become like "why didn't we reopen in person schools before there was a vaccine" and not "why did none of the trump guys go to jail for stealing PPE from New York hospitals in March 2020"
