perhaps my six thousand mcmorrow votes were a mistake. you live and learn.
Teach your children ‘democrats are not always good, but republicans ARE always bad’ and in 2026 you’ve covered like 90% of their practical civic education wrt voting.
The best thing about Vote Blue No Matter Who is that it unloads a lot of cognitive burden. I wanted Tom Steyer to be in the Governor's race, but he's not so I'm gonna vote for Becerra. I don't follow his campaign at all: I'm voting for him because he's not a Republican.

the median midwestern voter loves two things: electing republicans and thwarting republican policy goals via ballot referendum
ahh the slow slide into a close race, I'm sure everyone will be very normal about this
the betting markets are generally a scourge on society, etc etc. but this is basically the one thing they're good at. no not worth it, but it does makes cutting through the noise a lot easier.
Gen X and millennial hipster craft gastronomy genuinely changed the world.
Food, man. Food is so much better than it was in 1986. All of it. Poor-people food, restaurant food, fresh food, frozen food. Food is just a hell of a lot better.
candidate recruitment pipelines operate at world of atoms speeds because you need to actually convince human beings to make consequential decisions about their lives, but discourse lives in the instantaneous world of bytes so you get lots of sorta dumb preemptive celebration or despair
the people of Michigan DESERVE real leadership, and that is why I am a firm and staunch supporter of [WINNING_CANDIDATE] this November
I support the winner of the Michigan Democratic primary as the future senator from Michigan.
that current affairs article is what people are talking about when they say that there's a kind of left wing commentary that's essentially attempting literary analysis on real life
You actually don't have to do the "well, you know, I disagree with MAHA but they're right that there are real problems with The System" thing. That's a concession you absolutely do not have to make.
I'm having a difficult time orienting the theoretical contribution of my current project, because it basically boils down to 'this [interesting/unusual thing] can serve as a [under the correct conditions] capture of public sentiment through revealed preferences'
tbh I think that some of the residual bitterness over remote schooling is less about the policy specifics (it was clearly the best choice in 2020 given the information available) and a little more over how self-serving some people's justifications for it got into 2021-2022
Remote schooling sucked but the alternative was “schools stay open, a lot of kids are kept home and get no learning, and the open schools have rolling closures as teachers get sick from COVID”
Reminds me of the Terry Pratchet joke about Pascal’s Wager, where upon waking up in the afterlife the philosopher finds themselves surrounded by smiling gods going “oh, someone thinks they’re *clever* do they? someone thinks that they’re a *such* a smart boy?”
an act to limit the number of rounds of interviews for a position to a maximum of three
I’m gonna go fucking nuts about not being allowed to buy NON-ALCHOLIC beer without my ID. I’m coated in sweat and wearing running shit, I don’t have my wallet, I’m like 6’1 and bearded, do you think I’m some bizarre 19 year old trying to get a non-buzz, let me purchase the beverage. NANNY STATE.
Everytime I get excited for a videogame they cancel the goddamn thing. The lesson here is to learn about new video games the way that god intended: for the first time 14 months after release.
Movie canceled…game cancelled…tough times for enjoyers of Blade, the sophisticated thinking man’s superhero
there is room in the marvel cinematic universe for attempted high-concept meta-omage shows that require twelve hours prior homework viewing to understand, but a cool guy killing vampires is too fucking much of a risk. we get a million Captain Shitto: Origins films but evidently we don't get Blade
I think this was legit an article of contention in Sacramento in the 2000s, something to do with medical licensing and a dispute between general practioners and podiatrists.
a question that is bitterly dividing my household: are feet part of the leg?
Someone pointed out that there is no English language wiki articulate for the subject, however:
Edward 40hands!
Na this was incredible, Republican campaign staffers are lower than dirt and should be intimated and harassed at all times.
Also, I'm kind of surprised that it wasn't a bigger deal when she tried to scare off a tracker from an opposing campaign in 2018 by telling him she knew his dogs' names youtu.be/_KTKYIwc5oE?...
