Twin Cities, this is one of the people who was working on top of the roof in Chanhassen when ICE trapped them on the roof. People rushed to their defense from miles away. But these laborers were stuck in freezing temperatures for hours at a time & suffered injuries. Please help as you're able 💙🩵

MPD policies on drones: I would love to see them! Earlier this spring, MPD was using our local elementary school’s parking lot to fly drones- is that within policy?

Chowdhury: asks how they’re flown. MPD: flown by officers on dispatch. They’ll be marked with blue and red lights so ppl can differentiate between MPD & other LE or private drones. There will be a public dashboard showing where they’re flown & why. Recourse for complaints? MPD: policies already

Especially since MPD officers REGULARLY refuse to administer Narcan to people who are having an overdose.

AQI in Minneapolis is now 530. It’s over 80 degrees at 11pm. For neighbors without air conditioning, and our neighbors experiencing unsheltered homelessness, these are incredibly dangerous conditions. I’ll be out tomorrow with masks and cold water, checking on neighbors. Please do the same.

Update that an hour later that AQI is approaching 500.

Basically anybody credible who has real understanding of what happens during & when transitioning out of fascist regimes will tell anyone who will listen that local & regional leadership is what counts most; whichever seats closest to your daily life (city, district, congress, gov) will be critical.

You can and should point out that police killing people daily is the "norm" in America. But that doesn't mean you *accept* the normalization of this violence and the way some people rush to smugly point these things out contributes to collective fatigue. Your horror has been stolen from you.

ICE has fatally shot 11 people since Donald Trump's second term began. These are not isolated incidents. They are the predictable result of a cruel, violent system. Abolish ICE.

Fellow Oregon Trail Generation parents, we just got a solid 15 minutes of entertainment value out of singing the classic Carmen Sandiego theme song to our kiddo.

Every year in early July I engage in an existential battle in our yard. I either sacrifice copious blood to the black raspberry canes, or wear enough protective gear that I think I’m going to faint from the heat while picking.
