I don't care why you stand up. Stand up for immigrants, LGBTQ/Black/Brown, the right to choose your own books, for oil execs to choose not to extract Venezuelan oil, the right to have legitimate science information, or standing up for an independent Fed keeping a stable economy. Just stand up.

I looked at Facebook today. What a mistake. Do people no longer care about the Constitution? Do the ends justify the means? Is that what we have collectively decided? Have we decided that rules and laws no longer matter? How can people not see how that turns out?
Can we please talk about the current President's PSA. Let's trash the previous president some other time.
Signal? Isn't that the app that makes everything disappear so nobody can see it? Is our government supposed to keep transcripts or whatever, forever? In some sort of classified format. What else is being discussed on Signal? What will we not know about until it happens? Not good. Not good at all.
Every time you see someone powerful acting like a craven coward in the face of this authoritarian menace, let it stiffen your own spine. We are all we've got.
It is so unfair, but gosh, I am sure counting on the next generation of leaders. Our generation has blown it. Gex X, we owe massive apologies for the way we are handing things over. But hand it over, we must. And thank goodness for these strong, younger elected leaders. And, Bernie, too.
I have an idea. Let's not eat each other. The left are not the enemy of the left. Of course, we won't agree on everything. Still, let's not miss the big picture. Have the disagreements but know which side we are all on. We are on the side of this democracy - we can keep it.

SOTU seats are not assigned. There are general seating areas for each body (House, Senate, SCOTUS,etc) but there are honored seats for each party’s leadership and they’re even trying to squat those. If it doesn’t sort out, be aware you may see applause on both sides of the aisle but they may be GOP

I saw President Zelensky. I saw the behavior of our top elected officials and was dumbstruck for a minute. While they are working to burn everything down, I think we better start having conversations about what we want built back up! That doesn't mean give up. We certainly need to resist! But if we can find areas of agreement, perhaps resistance would be easier.
