She's really starting to remind me of Anthony Weiner; a backbench Democrat representative who built an aggressive media personality into a national following and then completely fell apart when exposed to scrutiny, due to being an overweening narcissist without any deeper loyalties.
The number of accounts last night who were basically crowing about how dems were gonna release hemming and hawing statements was fascinating, because it just kind of read as a projection on what would have happened if the results had been reversed.
Yes correct that is why we use the phrase, what did you think it meant. Is this supposed to be a gotcha or something?

In other Michigan news, the state looks set to elect it's first transgender lawmaker. Joanna Whaley won her Democratic primary and will compete in November for a state house seat, beating a primary opponent who tried and failed to disqualify her for not running under her deadname
The best thing about Vote Blue No Matter Who is that it unloads a lot of cognitive burden. I wanted Tom Steyer to be in the Governor's race, but he's not so I'm gonna vote for Becerra. I don't follow his campaign at all: I'm voting for him because he's not a Republican.

regardless of which candidate you support I really hate this bit where pundits pretend being electable in a primary makes you electable in the general election just ask senators Hershel Walker, Blake Masters, Todd Akin, Richard Mourdock, and Sharron Angle how that worked out for them

Absolutely true, but also, calling Mizrahim "Arab Jews" or "Jews of Arab descent" is not just historically incorrect but outright colonial.
This is the Israeli equivalent of "West Virginia will be ground zero for the socialist revolution"

a perennial obsession of anti-semites is the attempt to find 'real Jews' who can be used to attack other Jews. It's the role that Neturei Karta plays for a chunk of the British left too. But picking Mizrahim given actually existing Israeli politics is a real know-nothing sign.

My observation, especially in the last year, is that the real insidious thing isn’t even the rise of outrageously obvious antisemitism. It’s the complete refusal by many on the left to call it out or do anything about it. After over a decade of calling out every kind of niche reactionaryism.
