The fix for "the focus ring looks ugly on click" is not outline:none. It's :focus-visible — the browser shows the ring for keyboard focus and hides it for mouse, automatically. :focus{outline:none} breaks keyboard nav for everyone. One line, no trade-off. #a11y

I know this sentiment has been echoed by many others already, but I just wanted to also share my disdain for the fact that AI has taken away my ability to use em dashes for fear of people thinking I used AI to write something. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻)

🚀 Introducing Practica11y You don’t learn accessibility by reading about it. You learn it by finding issues, fixing them, and seeing the impact. That’s why I built an open-source, gamified learning platform for web accessibility. practica11y.dev 🧵👇

So we're back to security through obscurity? Sorry, but this is wrong. Our OSS apps and libs will be more secure thanks to the new models, not less. They are being released to researchers responsibly. Let's help maintainers avoid burnout. Let's fund them. Let's welcome more eyes checking our code.

Bailey Pumfleet @pumfleet (1h ago) post in X:

Open source is dead.

That’s not a statement we ever thought we’d make.

@calcom was built on open source. It shaped our product, our community, and our growth. But the world has changed faster than our principles could keep up.

AI has fundamentally altered the security landscape. What once required time, expertise, and intent can now be automated at scale. Code is no longer just read. It is scanned, mapped, and exploited. Near zero cost.

In that world, transparency becomes exposure. Especially at scale.

After a lot of deliberation, we’ve made the decision to close the core @calcom codebase.

Rethinking how we build for the agentic era. Stop writing agent skills like human docs—it wastes tokens and invites hallucinations. Here's a distilled set of core best practices (<5 min read) to help us write better skills. Give it a read: github.com/mgechev/skil...
