Used the Disc Finder app to chart my bag. Surprised at how few understable entries I have. The Road Runner is more neutral at this point. Definitely want to replace lost Saint and River. But taking suggestions ahead of trip to #discgolf Worlds so I can hit the pro shop with some energy.

#discgolf course No. 62: Hiestand Park, Madison WI. E/Shorts to Red. Similar to Orchard course (no.61), lots of elevation. Limited woods are slightly less punitive. Made most of the birdies I should have made, so a good outcome. (170 on @udisc.bsky.social). Also annoying experience to pay the fee.

#discgolf course No. 61: Orchard Hill Park, McFarland WI. +1/+2 (9 holes) Red to Green. Park is only a 9-hole course, no other amenities. Lots of elevation and smart use of what woods do exist give even the short layout some bite. Had I made a few putts, bite would be less. Would play again.

Hard to believe Twain thought of “Golf Is a good walk spoiled” without having actually seen me play #discgolf tonight. Woof. At least my new Athena is confirmed as an excellent sidearm disc. Snapped off a couple really good ones.

#discgolf course No. 59: Trail Marker DGC, Woodville OH. E/9 holes. Jumped off the Turnpike just to check Ohio off the list. Played like it. Needed a forehand roller on 2-3 holes and just didn’t have the confidence to try. Simple park course with not much to recommend it. States: 17.

#discgolf course No. 58: Fall Creek DGC, Lawrence IN. -5/Reds. Back in central Indiana for my 40th(!) HS reunion. Course on a church grounds. It’s a fun game when you just hit the gap. Hit metal on 3-4 other birdie putts. Still never had a 4-bagger before! Fun but maybe a bit too short. States: 16.

#discgolf course No. 57: North Valley Park, Inver Grove, MN. -1 / Reds. Short and hilly. Well kept. Four layouts of including 1 that is basically ace runs. Birdied the par-4 11th with a tee shot I will go to the grave with, smiling. States: 16

#discgolf course No. 56: Veterans Memorial Park, Dubuque IA. +7/Yellows. One of my faves! Wide (for some) and well-kept fairways. Tons of elevation. Equal call for FH and BH. If passing through, would detour here again. 300th UDisc round! States: 16.

#discgolf course No. 55: Grandview Park, Des Moines IA. +8. Poor start but +1 in last 10. Nothing like a 438-ft par 3 to open! Mostly well kept with nice shot variety. Happy to have my son and one daughter along on the son’s college graduation weekend. States: 16.

Disc golf course No. 54: Grove City, PA, Memorial Park. +3/21 holes. Nice stretch of woods holes 10-16, otherwise unremarkable but a nice public park course. Only worth leaving the turnpike to check PA off the list of states. Did pick up 4 🐦 though, so no complaints! States: 16. #discgolf #travel

Disc golf course No. 53: Muldoon Park, Pelham NH. +9. Similar woodsy feel to Maple Hill but only one tee pad/basket. Plus, more punishing off fairway. About 500 ft. longer than MH White and some par 3s that were wholly out of reach. Another beautiful fall outing though. States: 15. #discgolf #travel

Disc golf course No. 52. Maple Hill! +8/White Tees. As beautiful and well-kept as reputation suggests. Lot of RHBH, beat the first gap and you’re ok. (Red layout similar.) Birdied No. 8 from the 🎯! Only bird of the round but threw it ok. Putting no bueno. States: 14. #discgolf #travel

Disc golf course No. 51: Sullivan Park, Chittenango, NY. +4. Hilly, wooded track in Central NY. Beautiful setting (esp in fall) but long walks bet. holes. Climb to long basket on 17 especially treacherous. Overall fun, fair but tough. Multiple layout options. States: 12. #discgolf

Disc golf course No. 50! And first in CA. San Diego’s Morley Park. +6/19. One of the state’s first courses. Short but beautiful and challenging, well-kept but busy and chaotic. One spot on the back, 3 holes cross each other but everyone just rolls with it. Totally worth it. States: 12. #discgolf

Just booked a tee time at Maple Hill Disc Golf for mid-October! Excited to add this experience to my midlife journey. Expecting to play the Whites as that seems reasonably more challenging than Red without insane water carries. Don’t have PDGA rating but am 162 on UDisc. Thoughts? #discgolf
