"Say goodbye to all of this... and hello to oblivion!" 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' made its debut in UK cinemas on this day in 1975.
our entire global financial system is currently leveraged to the hilt on the premise that it was good and right for a small cadre of US companies to steal all of the intellectual work ever produced by humanity and sell its back to us without credit or remuneration to the authors (plagiarism)

Palantir has won an estimated £670m in UK government contracts — yet in 2024 it paid just £2.1m in UK tax. “Systems that enable tax to be shirked on an industrial scale clearly have to change” — Andrea Egan, UNISON General Secretary ✊

Important, because Farage's defence for not declaring Harborne's £5m 'gift' has always been very specific: he did not decide to stand until 3rd of June. Turns out this deal was struck mid-May (confirmed by RefUK) and facilitated by Farage's other big donor, convicted felon 'Posh' George Cotrell. 🧐

The value of council and school workers’ pay has fallen by more than 20% since 2010, while food, fuel and energy bills have kept rising. A 3.3% pay offer will not make up for years of lost pay. Vote YES for strike action and post your ballot today. ✊
📮 Still waiting for your ballot paper? Are you a UNISON member working for Swansea Council, Wrexham County Borough Council, Flintshire County Council, Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council or South Wales Fire and Rescue Service?
this is such a good and astute way to put it; so much gender critical feminism seems to stem from the belief that being a woman is a uniquely awful thing, and I mean no one's arguing that living in a patriarchal society as a woman is always a riot but what a depressing and pessismistic view of life!
So I think deep down they *have to* assume trans women are acting malignly, because they can’t imagine wanting to be a woman, while there seems to be a tendency see trans men as either failing to understand that it’s normal to be miserable about being a woman - or as traitors letting the side down.
"They just want to turn it off." A fascinating story of the librarians who have started teaching classes showing people how to remove AI "features" from their phones and apps. www.bangordailynews.com/2026/07/02/m...
These Maine librarians are helping patrons resist AI and Big Tech
Despite breathless reporting on how AI is going to change the world, Hannah Cyrus, a Bangor librarian, said that, in her experience, most library patrons aren’t finding it helpful.

Watching London-centric politicians lose their minds at the suggestion of further devolution because "IT COSTS TOO MUCH" while they sit in a mouse-infested palace that is costing taxpayers £40bn to renovate. FYI - £40bn would cover the annual cost of the (expanded) Welsh Senedd for 390 years...
Ecuador are my new favourite team. No mucking about, just attack with flicks, tricks and flare then defend as if your life depends on it.
Can Sunderland’s forwards please stop letting the whole world see just how mint they are please? it’s getting worrying now. #SAFC
As you boil in the heat, never forget that all those people who for decades have deliberately and maliciously disrupted efforts to tackle climate change are probably sitting comfortable in their large air conditioned houses. Houses funded on the back of lies/misinformation they helped propagate.
While you're cooking in the heat this week, do bear this in mind.
"A.i." is for managers who think their notes can replace the humans who actually create.
I'm not saying there's NO role for AI in the filmmaking process. But if the redundancy you're talking about eliminating is human taste, experience and creativity, you're just ignorant of what the process actually is in creative terms, and you just want to curry favor with the money people.
Extreme heat is a workplace health and safety issue. ☀️ With heat warnings in place for parts of Wales, employers must act to keep staff safe. That means proper risk assessments, cool drinking water, rest breaks and changes to duties or working patterns where needed.
