What the fuck do you mean Jared Kushner is now one of the owners of EA? 😭 Worst fucking timeline
"saudi arabia owns EA" is going to be the headline you see basically everywhere for this one but "jared kushner is about to use EA as a vehicle for trump administration bribes" is equally relevant imo

I've been looking for another place to chill and read downtown since Austin Steward Plaza is so unfathomably badly designed. Yesterday I visited Streb Park at 41 S Washington. I was surprised to find the entire block abandoned.
My bigger point re: Kevin is that so much of the discourse is actually, objectively, and factually stupid. You can't reason with stupid. Stupid is a choice to remain ignorant. And it's no mistake why a stupid person would want a king to make all their choices for them. That should be embarrassing.
Kevin Lockhart is a dangerous and unstable asshole. Avoid him at all costs. This type of conservatism is inherently anti-society. Kevin wants an armored kingdom of his own. So do all these stupid fucks. It's childish, it's lazy, and it's entitled. Shut that shit down.
#RochesterNY Mentally ill, violent agitator Kevin Lockhart showed up to harass and antagonize students of RCSD this week, during their anti-ICE protest. There are years of documented incidents of harassment, doxing, and violence. Let's ban him from all school grounds. c.org/PytrrDmtff

How grief tech is reimagining Victorian spiritualism
The 19th-century spiritualist movement promised contact with the dead. Today’s AI grief tech is reviving that promise in unsettling new ways.

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful
Ok to be entirely fair, there's something crazy going on at the Wyndham— lottsa coppers
Oh, I guess they live here now. Security in a park with no trees and lots of cameras. Lol ok.
saying these are bad things is funny on its own but to say the dems are welcoming this is so fucking funny
DSA (Democratic Socialists of America) destructive platform includes eliminating the Presidency, Senate, police and prisons. @democrats.org need to stand up against the destructive DSA platform immediately, but most leaders are either too weak or complicit. Instead they are welcoming them in.
It is absolutely CRAZY to me to advertise your theatrical production with AI images and videos. I am actually subtweeting(?) TWO DIFFERENT LOCAL ORGS!!

Ya know how RPD likes to sit around in their cars doing nothing all day? Turns out @cityofrochester.bsky.social Security is the same way! Parked on the pedestrian path with their lights flashing. Which is actually really cool! I didn't feel enough like I was under constant threat!
if only there was something… a sort of “division” between cars and cyclists? maybe even one a car couldn’t plow through during an accident?
A little space goes a long way. When you see a bicyclist on the road, slow down and give them room. Drivers should leave a minimum of 3 feet of space when passing a bicyclist. It’s a simple step that helps keep our streets safer for everyone. Learn more: drive2bbetter.org

Sharing this again. I learned this poem after my most recent stay in the psych ward and it hit home.
Today's A Course in Miracles lesson really hit home. I am determined to see the world differently.
The internet is mostly bots but everyone is still looking at their phone when they talk to you.

For a long time I casually supported Rachel Barnhart in local politics. While I find some of her work important, I've also noticed two things I can't get past: 1. Her use of Substack and Meta platforms and 2. Her support of Merceds Vazquez Simmons.
Super excited to see how this does nothing to change anything and then the mayors office can be all like "what more can we do?!" www.wxxinews.org/local-news/2...
Evans places ban on late night gatherings in public spaces
The ban would bar groups of 10 or more from gathering between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. It's unclear how enforceable the policy is.

Obsessed with "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" Republicans defending some fuckin parasite leaching off the system and not doing his job for 38 days.
The only time I even follow a link to a Substack page, it’s by accident, when the newsletter or blog is hosted on a different site. But then I look for the “powered by Substack” and immediately stop reading and dismiss any thoughts about sharing the link.
Dear library historian, do you have a copy of this thing that the city or county should have a copy of? "Here is the contact info of someone who has a single image of something related to what you asked about. You need a subscription to see it."
If you haven't been to the newly renovated Austin Steward Plaza downtown, PLEASE go. As you stroll through you'll think, how pretty and nice! But on closer inspection you'll find not one bench with a back, only one bench in shade, and, in fact, no shade otherwise. No mature trees. It's crazy.
FYI #RochesterNY is talking about redoing some of MLK park. Not the fountain, but around it: www.cityofrochester.gov/departments/... However, it sounds like they want to remove all the berms and trees, like they did at Austin Steward. I'm emailing the listed contact now and sharing my concerns.

I think I'm going to have to start emailing local historians to see if I can find original plans/photos of Manhattan Square. Because I'm going to have to start a campaign to shame Rochester into fixing this architectually and historically important art by Lawrence Halprin. #Rochesterny #ROC
