Fortified Niche is a podcast about miniature wargames you probably haven't heard of and definitely haven't played. JcDent - 🇱🇹 Cassa - 🇦🇺 DM/e-mail us about your cool new game unless you're using slop. patreon.com/fortifiedniche

Many moons ago, prolly even before I had a printer, I wanted to scan my coverted IG for some reason or another. But that is a great idea in general, right? Converting a large amount of troops for a mass game is a lot of effort and money. But with a scanner and printer...

There was a time when RTS games were moving from 2D to 3D where a review would ding a game for looking "ancient" because it wasn't doing mind-blowing CnC Generals-tier 3D. 20 years later, all those early 3D titles look like shit, and a developer can take any approach if they're good enough.

I see these kind of people talk down to indie devs all the time, they'll leave comments on social media posts or trailers berating indies for their artstyle saying things like people have moved on from these graphics, they see a specific artstyle as a failing to have kept up with technology.

And I get the same vibe from AI proponents; They simply don't understand art, and think it's beneath them. They don't understand the appeal, they come from a techbro mindset and think art is a solved equation and anything that isn't photorealistic or extremely high detail is failing at the goal.
