like this just isn't hype. it's just work and it's a lot of decision-making and work and running out of usage and waiting and reading code and trying to figure out if they fucked up your architecture it's not hype, it's still work. faster work, yeah, but it is work

software development isn't really all that flashy. i find most of the overhyped ai software to be massively overinflated hype machines i've been churning through reprise-engine for a month now and we're still not at a point where the UI can be posted on twitter for likes lmaoooo

this project is a lot bigger than i thought it was going to be. it's been a few million tokens just to get to "working state". i mean, this project is important enough to me that i will audit and rewrite a lot of this code, but it's very interesting to see how much it takes to get to a "baseline"

Three panels, two Opus 5.5 agents and one Sol 6 agent working on one project.

You joined "grand vizier chat (secret)" You: dark rumors from aboard You: abroad* fuck Sssnakecharmer: mf said aboard WhispersintheChapel: ahoy matey lol PonderMyOrb changed the group name to "rumors from aboard"

Opus 5.5 and Sol 6 are *so* cheap and efficient i've just been passing a repo back and forth between usage limits and they've built a lot of the SimplyPlural features we needed for personal use in one night im on their lowest tiers and this is already essentially unlimited personalized software dev

i think it's interesting that the single most enduring trait of all our perspectives across the entire system's lifetime is the idea that no premise is inherent or irrefutable the system has always rejected the notion that any particular thought or idea is set in stone and must be comformed to.

i tried spotifast/fastpotify and immediately realized how much of a non-starter it is that spotify does not expose playlist folders we have >200 playlists, folders have become necessary, unfortunately

Jev looks SO interesting. a probablistic decision-making model seems like the perfect interface between "human speak in text" to "computer speak in absolutes" i wanna build a harness on it IMMEDIATELY

it seems really interesting to me that almost every highly-praised programming/theoretical computation book is just on the internet for free i have not really had to pay a single cent to read a lot of the foundational textbooks on programming theory. most of them are even in streamlined online html

Hey everybody. On the 25-year anniversary, we're reprinting the much revered 9/11 edition of The Onion and sending that free to every member this month. It's been 25 long years. Look back in anger.

The front page of The Onion's September edition from September 2001 featuring the headline "U.S. Vows to Defeat Whoever It Is We're At War With."

sorry, but torturing the omelas kid is just a smart move, polling-wise. i personally wish there wasn't a kid in the omelas hole--of course i do!--but let's not get distracted by purity tests, here.

it sounds like apple is once again charging money for their products. i don't know why any of you are surprised – that's how they get ya. it all comes down to the almighty dollar, my friends

being a poet in the age of Large Language Models is definitely Something not even because you can ask an LLM for poetry, but the sheer volume of words just makes all words worth less in most people's eyes you skim instead of read. each word is just less important
