Giving Tokon a go this weekend but the last beta was what I would call an anti ad, I don't think I'd been as bored with a fighting game for at least a decade.

Not as outwardly impressive as, say, Brutalist Jam 3, but Tremor just launched - a 'Quake like Id did' full campaign, filtering modern design through roughly the same software limits the original developers did. Some top talent from across the Quake scene involved in this one.

Am I the only one who has a pet peeve with EWC because the shit I see is just so transparently corporate? Like dudes are playing Tekken and the only thing you can come up with as a slogan is "every frame counts"?

VSAV, +R, & BBCF represent different ends of pushing the genre to its max in the same direction. Natural culminations of the genre. True sicko games from the devs. Asuka 120% is an unnatural culmination pushed to its max. Hinokakera is the enthusiast maximalist game. CVS2 is SF pushed to its end.
