Months ago I set up Bsky “lists” to see updates from certain Bsky accounts. Today I saw that the lists incorrectly show some of those accounts as though they haven’t made original posts in weeks even though they’ve been posting all along.

Time for some therian talk. So one of the things I'm most proud of is my participation in the creation of the Therian symbol that I see so many people using today. I've got a screenshot here from some of the original uses of it back in 2004. I was not the only one that worked on this.

Fun fact: I was one of the folks who helped develop the Theta-Delta symbol about 20 years ago. It was a lively discussion in the WereList forums (some didn't like the idea of a symbol at all). I sketched out the results as the discussion progressed, & put together what became the final version. #ΘΔ

At its peak, it was above 99 %: 99.3 % on Feb 25th (doi.org/10.5281/zeno...). Note that these are the percentages within the recently uploaded videos, not (!) all Top 300 videos. Still, it's quite high, of course.

While today's data suggests a drop from 65.8 % [1] to 28.5 % [2] overnight, re-running the analysis manually resulted in a much more expected 64.1 % [3]. I also had to reject any hypothesis I had about the cause of this morning's numbers (none of them held up to basic scrutiny). #therian #otherkin

While we're here, does anyone know where therianism (the word) sprouted from. Because ppl (usually furries) keep calling therianthropy "therianism" and I can't figure out a reason why besides just not knowing the terminology well Same for ppl not knowing therian is abbreviated (from therianthrope)

God damn it’s weird hearing someone on NPR speak about therians. It was on their politics podcast during their section where the presenters talk about stuff they are following in the past week, politics or otherwise, and Franco Ordoñez was talking positively about the therian boom in Latin America.

I just did a little analysis around how much recent developments have impacted the results for ”therian“ search results on YouTube. 49.8% (148) of the all-time results have been published in the past 30 days, 99.3% (148) of these are in Spanish (n=300). #therian #otherkin doi.org/10.5281/zeno...

apparently there was some therian meetup that may have been fake in Barcelona that thousands of non-therians went to, I can't find much coverage on the event specifically but this reaction from an outside perspective is wild to watch and i hope this doesn't happen in the US
