Oh man, those commanders from mystery booster commander are so full of lore, flavor, and rule breaking. Fuuuuuck yes.
I had a lovely idea for a Sméagol deck called: “To the Gate, to the Gate! To the Gate, the master says. Yes! No!” And think it might be one of my best deranged ideas in awhile.
The only thing I wish we had more of from the Hobbit set is more green dwarves.

Decided to go full power, no holds barred. Got it sleeved up with paper copies of what isn’t yet released. Time to get in some games with SMAUG!!!

It has been quite fun watching the evolution of tech to build Smaug the Impenetrable over the last 24 hours. I’ve continued making adjustments to my own potential build and very much look forward to sleeving it up in a month!
Smaug and Dawnsire about to be BFFs and it's gonna be hilarious every time. I can legit think of 12 different wilder and wilder payoffs for an engine like this.
The centerpiece was a massive moist orchard fruit cake, decorated with sugared maple leaves and surrounded by trifles of various colors—bright red-current, green gooseberry, pale pink rose, and delicate woodland violet.

Had to work for it, got a win with one of the 93 combos in Koll the Forgemaster. Was wearing my Kaldheim shirt at the time, and damn that was fun as hell. Weftstalker, Demonmail Hauberk, Kobolds of Kher Keep, and Phyrexian Walker with Koll on the Board and additional creatures. Ah yeah. Also tonight
They tucked into fennel, cloudberry, dandelion, hazelnut, dried fruit, and cheese salad, almond and chestnut slice with redcurrant preserves, and some cold pale cider.
What, no Nadu in Cali something or other format? Pass.
