Government have tried to bury some bad news - for Rachel Reeves anyway - today as *their own* cost-benefit assessment of Heathrow expansion plan finds it would LOSE between £21 to £121 billion! A climate catastrophic boondoggle clutched for by a chancellor with no real ideas for ‘delivering growth’

This is just one reason why the @londonassembly.bsky.social transport committee is starting an investigation into autonomous passenger vehicles, their regulation and impact on London’s transport system. More vehicle miles driven, so less space for walking cycling or bus priority?

New research examines Waymo's California robotaxi trips btw Aug 2023 and Dec 2025. Conclusion: 46% of miles driven involved no one inside the car. That's 40 million miles of deadheading, with Waymo vehicles using road space w/o transporting a human. doi.org/10.32866/001...
