There are many reasons to call Trump a monster, and the one we should cite the most is unfortunately the one cited least: his War on the Poor, which coincides with his unprecedented graft to help himself and his rich friends. This is what evil looks like.

Lies. Damned lies. And Statistics?

There's barely anything even on what should be uncontroversial - how we build resilience in our housing, our food and water supplies, our healthcare systems in the face of ever hotter summers.

One interesting aspect of the recent COVID discourse is that a lot of us have forgotten that lockdown and school closures was not simply about preventing deaths, it was about keeping the *rate of infection* down to a level the NHS stood some chance of coping with.
