I've decided to compile a definitive thread of photos of the best sheep I've photographed during my walks in the countryside, together with supporting biographical information. I will put the vital story associated with each sheep in the alt text, since some of it is a little long to fit in a post.

It's 8.40pm and I'm in bed, and it's nice and I'm tired and looking forward to sleep. The sun won't set for an hour, but luckily I have blackout curtains. My teenage self would be appalled. (Tbf, it seems a pity to waste a lovely summer evening, but - tired.)
That’s the perfect name for this time of oligarchs: “the Re-Gilded Age.”
Trump: "Re-gilding of the massive Arts of War sculptures, located between The Lincoln Memorial and site of The Triumphal Arch, rapidly continues. The sculptures will be fully regilded by July 3. The photos were taken yesterday. The Gilders’ Studio has flown in Gilders from around the Country!"
The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), and the children’s book world, is saddened by the news that author, mentor and friend, Jane Yolen, has died. She was 87 and her loss cannot be measured. Please find the full obituary here: www.scbwi.org/remembering-...
What a nasty bruise! Goodness me! I wonder who gave him that? Richly deserved, regardless.

The same people who anointed Starmer, and are trying to anoint Farage, are looking for all and any kompromat on Polanski. When you read weird stories in the papers against Polanski, and they seem desperately thin, know that they went dumpster diving and that rubbish was all they could find.
Old housemates, old school friends, family members, - they even asked a local launderette for an itinerary of what I've had washed! All this from billionaire owned media because they don't want a party to continue growing that challenges power & wealth. Join.greenparty.org.uk
Lots of lovely references to #indigo and African and Indian #textiles.
A lot of attention is paid to craft traditions in Western Europe and North America, such as handsewn Hermes leather goods and bespoke Savile Row suits. But the uneven focus leads some to believe that things made outside of these places are low quality. This is not true. 🧵
Western Africa in general has a rich textile tradition. The noted Arab traveler Ibn Battutah once visited Kano, an ancient trading city in northern Nigeria, where he remarked on the indigo dye pits of Kofor Mata. Six hundred years later, those same pits are being used today.

Early start (before 7am) for a walk today, but still too hot to walk up Pendle. So we went round Lower Ogden reservoir and paddled in the river at Barley. Back home by 9.30 for another quiet day in the garden.
National Rescue Dog Day! Arthur, enjoying the breeze on the way to Hawes in the Yorkshire Dales.
Can anyone who lives within striking distance of Thames Ditton help give an elderly cat a loving home? #CatsOfBluesky
Uk cat lovers- . Croquembouche's brother is owned by a lady who is helping someone who has just entered palliative care. She has 15 cats. Most are seniors. 5 are going to a charities home for life situation, it's reluctantly accepted some will be pts. If anyone can love one I can connect.
This is cat check point. Relinquish the most recent cat picture on your phone.

I never read #GameofThrones (too derivative and overly dramatic for me (but there's some excellent ff out there addressing plot holes)). However, here's a lion and a direwolf. Most people don't even remember the connection now. GoT hasn't lasted.
this is the last photo on my parents' video birdfeeder before it was mysteriously destroyed we may never know what happened
Genuinely angry that the police are just shutting down half of Glasgow city centre on a Saturday afternoon because they're incapable of controlling football fans. I bet the local retailers won't be happy either.
Yeah, this is great, the best way to deal with drunken rampaging arseholes is to shut down the streets and let 'em rip www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/news/scottis...

Stoking and channeling boiling contempt for the ultra-rich is a pretty essential element of what needs to happen if we're gonna get out of this. And folks, they've given us a lot to work with. Don't tone police that shit. When it gets out of control, remind people why that's happening.
In woods in deepest darkest Gloucestershire yesterday, doing a Lime Bast Day with @sallypointer.bsky.social . Her new book on this is excellent.
This deserves to be circulated. A former Red Cross staff member got in touch. She testifies about @zackpolanski.bsky.social's role. For transparency: her name is Brea Thibodeau. The whole thing is a desperate smear.
🧵The curse that kept a church door unlocked for over a century… In 1801, an innocent Romani man, Joshua Scamp was hanged for a crime he didn't commit; framed by his own son-in-law. When the local clergy later desecrated his grave, the furious Gypsy Queen laid her curses. Every single one came true.
