i don't care what the issue is, if your election opponent is running millions of dollars in ads about one single issue, you cannot, under any circumstances, say that your opponent is right about the issue.

The harder the world feels, the more we need to carve out moments to observe our growth and our joy. And the more challenging it can be to accept it from elsewhere. I still have room for 30 people in this year's poetry project. I promise, accepting joy is not creating burden. Get yours.

IT IS...TIME.... For the Queer Winter Poetry of 2026. YOU identify on the queer spectrum, want to receive a typewriter-written poem in December-ish of 2026, and have been waiting all year to sign up. #QueerlyBeloved The Link: forms.gle/KeMPu6bYyWqu...

Getting an email and finding out the three people you wanted to meet with to discuss an issue instead met without you to discuss it on their own is pretty fucking infuriating. Why the fuck are you making technical decisions in my domain without any input from me after specifically asking to meet.

A new tool exposes the $1.7 billion union-busting industry. You can search every law firm, consultant, and individual attorney. And you can estimate how much a typical union-busting drive costs, depending on the workplace, number of employees, & length of campaign. prospect.org/2026/09/08/u...

How Much Do Union-Busting Campaigns Cost? - The American Prospect

Is your boss making you sit through anti-union propaganda meetings? It turns out those are pricey.

@deck.blue If there is a vote on this sort of thing: Can the recent emoji chart update after the post? If I want a couple of the same emoji I don't want them shifting after one click.

Ok so the trick is we need to take the internet back to 1997, beat back the moral panic over trans people (as we did the satanic panic), and bring back McDonald's Salad Shakers. Then the next generation will be the smartest ever.

#PairedTexts 1. From Chalkbeat: U.S. moves up test score rankings by falling less than other countries - American 15-year-olds now score well above average in science and reading, but the global decline is alarming. 2. From The New York Times: U.S. Reading Scores Plummet on Global Exam

By Matt Barnum and Erica Meltzer

In the early 2000s, politicians and pundits were swept up in anxiety about U.S. performance on a key international test known as PISA. Delegations traveled to learn from high-achieving countries like Finland. Journalists and researchers wrote books on the topic. Leaders like President Obama bemoaned the country’s dire results.

The good news from the latest PISA results, released Tuesday, is that the U.S. has gained relative standing in recent decades. Today, U.S. students score well above average in science and reading. Math scores, long America’s weakest subject, are now on par with other developed countries.

The bad news is how this happened. The U.S. has steadily moved up largely because other countries’ scores have deteriorated faster than ours over the last decade. A bevy of data points show American students are learning less than they used to. Even U.S. PISA scores in math and reading are at or near their lowest level.
