As part of my reporting on children held in immigrant detention in Dilley, Texas, I’ve gotten to review some medical records from the facility. This is where ICE brought 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos. One detail that has gnawed at me: The medical forms refer to the children as inmates.

The Israeli government has rejected calls for independent investigations into alleged abuses in Gaza, claiming its military investigates itself. NBC News combed through hundreds of messages with the IDF to examine its track record of holding itself accountable.

Best TikTok thing going is the two dudes trying food from every country without leaving NYC. If you haven’t seen them yet, it’s incredible. My favorite so far is last week’s. Legit got me emotional.

For almost two years, Samed Abu Zarifa and Samir Al Boji covered the war in Gaza for @nbcnews.com as it unfolded around them. Our documentary "Filmed in Gaza" tells the story of their lives and work, their brush with starvation, and their harrowing evacuation from the Gaza Strip.

New! We worked with the Public Interest Research Group to test a bunch of LLM-driven toys ahead of the Christmas. That sexual talking teddy bear wasn't a one-off; it turns out disturbing behavior is deeply built into these toys across the board.

AI toys for kids talk about sex and issue Chinese Communist Party talking points, tests show

New research from Public Interest Research Group and tests conducted by NBC News found that a wide range of AI toys have loose guardrails.

Elon Musk's net worth is ~$414.9 billion according to various wealth trackers now. But this is still a meaningful consequence (for 1,000 reasons) for Tesla to have to pay a crash survivor & the bereft family of the other victim $242.5 million.... www.cnbc.com/2025/08/01/t...

Tesla must pay portion of $329 million in damages after fatal Autopilot crash, jury says

A jury in Florida determined that Tesla should be held partly liable for a fatal 2019 crash involving its Autopilot technology.

An American from a blue collar background, who spent their early career in Peru before rising to a prominent position in Europe? Congratulations Pope Lydia Tár!

Hi friends, help me boost? Looking to talk to people who work in child vaccines (providers, schools, health depts, clinics, data folks or coalitions, etc.) who might have insight or experiences to share about how their work has been impacted the last couple of months. Don't reply just DM me please!

The story behind RFK Jr. in Samoa's measles crisis has never been reported. He wasn't there to spread misinformation about vaccines (though he did). He wanted to study a "natural experiment" of unvaccinated kids. “I can’t imagine anything less ethical or more cruel.” www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...

Experts saw Samoa's plunging vaccination rates as a crisis. RFK Jr. saw an opportunity.

New details show how Robert F. Kennedy Jr., then chair of an anti-vaccine group and now Trump’s pick for health secretary, sought to exploit a deadly vaccine accident.

Went down a fun rabbit hole last night about how the French government spent the better part of 1993 freaking out about Jurassic Park—making it a big issue in trade talks, as well as trying and failing to prop up a French epic about coal miners to take on Jurassic Park at the domestic box office.

I suppose I should celebrate joining a platform that doesn't throttle links by linking some recent work! My first project for NBC is about the wanton destruction of southern Lebanon by the IDF—a collaboration between our digital docs and data graphics teams: www.nbcnews.com/specials/zon...

Zone of destruction

The Israeli military claims to have limited goals for its southern Lebanon invasion. But an NBC News investigation found widespread destruction in areas occupied by the IDF.
