How do you knock tens of thousands of doors across a huge (thanks, Doug Ford) municipal ward? Many hands make light work 🫶

Hey, Toronto! Running for Toronto City Council in Ward 11 University–Rosedale. gabeforunirose.ca/housing
This weekend, I’m attending the Toronto Palestine Film Festival in Christie Pits. I’m glad that people from all over the world are able to share their culture here in Ward 11 University—Rosedale. But there’s work still to be done ✊
Can confirm. As Gabe posted this I'm in beautiful Prague riding trams that are nearly 10km/h faster on average than Toronto's, despite having large sections in mixed traffic. Let's catch up with the rest of the world, reduce emissions and boost the economy!
Grateful to have the support of transit researcher @jedwinmok.com. When someone who studies this for a living says fixing the 506 is achievable, you listen. Let’s make College St. 2.0 a reality 🚈💨

A long day of canvassing will remind you why we need more public seating! gabeforunirose.ca/seating-stra...
This is good to see. Before next year’s budget I’d like to see a similarly comprehensive review of the water subsidies the City currently gives out. 1/2
All the data centre motions, requesting all kinds of information about data centres, CARRY via show of hands. Item as amended CARRIES 25-0. Consider this just a preview of a much larger debate about data centres coming to this council chamber in 2027. There's no escape.
Toronto is a gift to the world. My closing remarks from last week’s event on housing policy in Ward 11 University–Rosedale 🏘️

This is a bizarre bit of fearmongering. I was in this park with my kids last night. It was chaotic, but not a hint of conflict among the hundreds of people there. What it needs is a restaurant, coherent design, and a dedicated manager. nationalpost.com/opinion/yoni...
It’s been one year since @cycletoronto.bsky.social, @thebikinglawyer.bsky.social, @ffsafestreets.bsky.social and everyone in our city got a huge victory by stopping Doug Ford’s plan to tear up bike lanes, including key arteries in Ward 11 like Yonge, Bloor, and University Ave. 1/2
This is a good item. A lack of supportive housing is one of the key bottlenecks on the path to stable housing.
Up now: an item about building more supportive housing to reduce homelessness. Councillor Holyday has concerns. secure.toronto.ca/council/agen...
Salut, Toronto! I’m fighting to close the gaps Doug Ford created in Toronto’s childcare.
The evidence is clear: Lower rents are possible. But achieving them requires a vision for our city 🏘️
Starting today, the 506 streetcar will detour for track repairs on Carlton St. from Church St. to Yonge St. This is phase two of repairs that previously could have been used to upgrade the switches at College and Bay.
We won this round, but we’re still fighting for: 🚈💨 a fast streetcar. 🏘️ a fair deal for renters. That’s why we’re canvassing today, tomorrow, and every day. TeamGabe.ca
Toronto has been clear: No jets at the island airport. Protect our waterfront! It felt so good to celebrate with hundreds of Torontonians today 🥁
Irritating to see the Toronto island airport battle framed as NIMBYism. This was a project with zero business case that would have destroyed economic value and soft power – and stopped homebuilding! It was a terrible project that deserved to die. When people say no, sometimes they are correct.

We went to City Hall to demand tangible actions to #FixThe506 that would make a difference for working Torontonians. While it’s a positive sign that councillors are hearing our concerns about streetcars, we need action, not endless reports and studies that show us what we already know 🚉
Ward 11 shows how welcoming our city can be. As your City Councillor, I’ll fight for more for you 🏘️
you should come volunteer and help us fix the streetcars and make housing more affordable :)
Saturdays are for the doors. Today, our crew conquered the Manulife Centre apartments!
Chinatown knows how to throw a party! Thanks to the BIA for organizing this awesome street festival 🥟

Been following our campaign for a while? Come meet me at a canvass! TeamGabe.ca
Over a hundred Ward 11 residents have come out to show support for our plan for more homes and lower rents. But we’re just getting started: It’s time to end the tenant tax markup, fix the fees on family-size units, and tax the crap out of vacant land 🏘️
Heavily encourage you to donate to candidates you believe in and take full advantage of the 75% city rebate on donations between $25.01 and $300. A donation of $40 will only cost you $10 post-rebate!! Can't donate? Volunteer your time! We can't let only wealthy connected candidates dominate.
Join me on Tuesday, July 21st to learn about my plan for Housing in Toronto!

Thank you to @ontariogreens.bsky.social deputy leader Aislinn Clancy, @commonwealthcanada.bsky.social’s @kenjaminyang.bsky.social, and @moreneighboursto.bsky.social Citizen Guide author Liam Gill for supporting my plan for more homes and lower rents in Ward 11 University—Rosedale 🏘️
If there's one thing you need to know about Toronto's municipal election thus far, it's that Gabe Blanc's policy proposals are on another level from anyone else. There is a clear focus on delivering tangible quality of life improvements that are *actually* w/in a municipality's control that is rare.
Toronto says it wants more affordable homes. But everywhere you look, the incentives are backwards. Renters pay higher property taxes. Family apartments cost more to build than shoeboxes. Vacant land sits untaxed. A fair deal for housing can deliver more homes and lower rents 🏘️
Our campaign team has members from Niagara, the Netherlands, Chatham-Kent, and China, all saying the same thing: Toronto is a gift to the world, and we should share it with more people — not less 🏘️
On Tuesday, I unveiled my plan for more homes and lower rents. This plan, provides both immediate relief and long-term systemic change for renters in the City of Toronto. Learn about ending the tenant tax markup, fixing the family-size unit penalty, and taxing vacant lots 🏘️
🤨 Why is my councillor @diannesaxe.bsky.social interrogating Gabe like he’s the one in charge of her motion? But also doesn’t know his name? #topoli
I went to City Hall to speak in support of speeding up streetcars.
If you dislike Saxe's treatment of Blanc here, 25 bucks @ https://gabeforunirose.ca/donate/ gets a full day of canvassing material. (I maxed my donation out already, so do it for me )
