I read the NYT piece, and I am holding onto the words of a woman who fended off inappropriate advances from a 60-year-old Cesar Chavez at the age of 19. “It makes you rethink in history all those heroes,” Esmeralda Lopez said. “The movement — that’s the hero.”

The double pardon really gives away the game. Adriana Camberos started her second round of fraud just weeks after her first pardon. She was charged, convicted, imprisoned…and pardoned again. Trump supporters are permitted unlimited crimes, while the rest of us can get beaten by the secret police.

Peter Sterne@petersterne.com · 12mo agoAndrew Cuomo going on Fox News to accuse Zohran Mamdani of caring about “woke issues” and talk about how much he’s scared of the subway seems like a pretty clear sign that he has abandoned the Democratic Party.
Why do I pay all these taxes just so the MTA can take over an hour to transport me 9 miles (thus causing me to be very late picking my son up from daycare)? Why do we still have signal problems gumming up the whole subway system in the year 2025?
The reason our society is at a breaking point is there’s no longer a penalty for government officials (Republicans) who lie. Lie to Congress during your confirmation hearing, lie to the public about a piece of legislation, lie during the campaign about what you will or won’t do—none of it matters.
