Does rhetorical othering affect the identity of the targeted minority? @teresafmonteiro.bsky.social, @hasagerlinea.bsky.social and I study exactly this in the context of Denmark's so-called Ghetto List. Using an RD design, we find that the Ghetto label triggered a cultural backlash

New WP: “University as a Melting Pot: Long-term Effects of Internationalization” Debates on international students often focus on capacity constraints, funding, or competition. In the paper, I show that the main effects of internationalization on natives are not academic or economic, but social.

Update: We submitted the comment to the Journal of Population Economics, and today we got a desk reject with this motivation. However, we do not know their conclusion about the main results and why the paper was not retracted. Clearly, they do not hold. 1/4

Overskriften her viser meget godt problemet med adgangskvotienten som mål for hvor svært det er at komme ind: "Landets højeste snit" er vel strengt taget så Arkitekt i Aarhus, der kun optager gennem kvote 2 (uendelig høj? udefineret?)

Hun har søgt uddannelse med landets højeste snit og venter nu spændt

As I am now handling papers at AEJ:Policy again, I want to encourage authors of papers that identify partial equilibrium effects to consider (in a rigorous manner) how they relate to policy effects or general equilibrium effects.
