Some plants have done well in the heat, others haven't liked it at all. Not due to lack of water, but stressed by extreme heat and humidity over a long period. Just done some containers for a relative who's plants have suffered. As these specimens survived the heatwaves, I'm calling them 'proven'.

Obviously, a Sensible Country would protect and use this vital resource wisely. Not to cool unnecessary Data Centres, for instance:- you couldn't and wouldn't want to eat AI Slop. #Water #BGS www.bgs.ac.uk/news/uk-aqui...

One of those RAF Chinooks which can't be used for firefighting, because they're currently at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus, which is just off the M3 near Basingstoke, #ITVNews
Pretty certain that Phil Stacey, (manager of the Taylor & McKenna toy shop, Gold Street, Kettering) & me (part time employee), were the first to coin the '"My Little Pony" Abattoir and Canning Factory', as we were so sick of the whole craze for MLP. We put the idea up on Usenet, to 'mixed reviews'.

@cheeseford.bsky.social This sounds like Peter Cook parody-ing Peter Sellers impersonating John Gielgud.

Should market it as "Andyhidrosis". Bet Fergie would be up for fronting another toe-curling cringe-campaign.
I saw this ad on Instagram and I 100% thought that this was an Infowars fake ad @bencollins.bsky.social
More lying per the usual. In this case, grifting credit for things done by others.
This was the only complaint they addressed with any kind of urgency, so much so that complaints about “sesame dying” were added at the beginning of every request to the government. As the age-old advice goes: open sesame.
Impressive swing to bin. Would have liked a closer tie-handle. No doubt Farage will pedal his usual one liners, but the £5m ensures that this is not drawstring to a closure. #Clacton

Today is #LeftHandersDay Besides what's said in the attachment - let's face it - also *slightly mental*.
A Level Day (1981). I recall cycling in to Kettering Tech, to look at the printed sheets of results in the foyer. It was a fine morning, about to get better. I saw what I'd got and thought, 'that's it, I'm off - thank fuck'. #ALevelDay

🟥 REWIND | Full marks to BBC Northern Ireland Presentation tonight. Announcer: David Gordon.
I was on holiday for the 1999 total eclipse. It was cloudy so only caught a brief glimpse. Nonetheless, some tosser of an owner of one of the beach bars decided to set firework rockets off at Totality. For which they were roundly, thoroughly, and correctly, bollocked ✔️

This is beyond pathetic now. Take the contract back and get some people in with the right kit, who also know what to do with it. Preferably, the L.M.S. Or the Lakeside Railway, #Wicksteed Park.
Important info here if you're planning to travel by train tomorrow or Thursday...

At more than 4 months to go, it could be thought too early for this. But I'm feeling confident so I'm calling it now. The Consumer & Consumer Product *Mismatch Of The Year* is: Me & the Ocean Digital WR-800F Internet Radio. Even Gigaclear are coming in a distant second. Which is a first for them.
Someone commentating on The Cricket just said "hospo boxes" and now I've vomited.
A fairly recent social relic, spotted the other day - although its date-frame in our collective timeline does seem to wander about a bit. But I always thought that this version was ambiguously illustrated & worded - if you followed the instructions, they might not in fact, keep you 'safe' ... 😲😄
