You did a post about the Paper Mario 64 example years ago! Only on Twitter so I'll share the image here - link in alt text. The ground is colored by use of mipmaps, but the N64's mipmapping is hard to emulate properly, so some emulators (notably, Wii Virtual Console) render the floor as all purple.

The first is running on the original Nintendo 64, and the ground has a rainbow effect where the ground closest to the screen is purple, and it slowly fades to blue, then green as it gets further away.

The second image is running on the Wii Virtual Console. Because of incorrect emulation, the entire floor renders with the purple texture, and the rainbows are entirely lost.

You can now install Linux on Apple M3 MacBooks! 🐧 We've got USB, Audio, WiFi, and more working, but not the GPU yet. Instructions to install in the reply. It was so fun to help make this happen, and credits to the rest of the team too! Let me know how you find it!
