Apparently we have a #BlindBox problem, apparently? We started and then couldn’t stop. 😂 #HatsuneMiku #Blokees

A 30-something gamer that likes to play Final Fantasy XIV, Splatoon, and whatever else catches my attention. I like to read a wide range of novels and manga.
So gutted I miss out on picking up Splatoon Raider because I have to get a train to get a plane to Fanfest. Waaaaaa. Why did we have to travel today. :(((
Super excited to try the #JapanimeTactics featuring #GranblueFantasy #boardgame!! I went all in on everything direct from Japanime games. The game mats are so nice and I’m excited to open it all and set it up! #Cygames
Been playing this one for part of the day. Started again to replay the story and play with my partner. Really looking forward to the replay! #GranblueFantasyRelink #EndlessRagnarok
This whole end of physical media thing is really affecting me. It’s not just having the disc - it everything around shopping, hunting for things, spending time with buddies. None of it matters to business but it makes me question why I bothered getting into the gaming space at all. Really sad.
Can I have a physical copy of this game? No. So the game will be cheaper because there's no disc to produce? Again, no. I have to store all my games on my console. Memory chips are cheap these days, right? Guess what?
Sony has announced it will stop making physical PlayStation games in 2028 Response from the gaming community:
If you're curious what a non-preservationist gaming ecosystem looks like, you can look at the mobile stores, where most of the shit you remember does not exist in any form anymore.
Sony has announced that starting January 2028, PlayStation games will no longer be sold physically and digital will be the only option. Digital games can be removed. Digital games can be altered. Digital games are non-transferable. Physical purchases need to be an option.
Urgh. Sad to think #FFXVI (great game) will be the last main line #FinalFantasy I will play. #SquareEnix
The news today just shows us how much digital game preservation really matters These corporations need to do better at ensuring our digital purchases are always going to be accessible I've spoken about it before but this really shows the importance of campaigns like Stop Killing Games
Stop Killing Games — They Kill Games. We Fight Back.
Publishers are permanently destroying the video games you paid for. Join a global coalition of 2M+ supporters demanding legislation to protect consumer rights and preserve games.

I'm really sad The day being here isn't shocking but it doesn't soften the blow
Well there it is. Say goodbye to ever really owning your PlayStation games from 2028 onward. Hope you also like high prices too, because they’re going to be milking this for every cent.
What else can you really say? The enshittification of the video game industry seemingly knows no end.
Another thought on this - storage space (ie - SSDs) have increased so sharply in price that storing digital games is becoming increasingly difficult and expensive. Discs are DIRT CHEAP to produce - so even if you have to install them, you have a physical, cheap solution right there.
I guess that's that then, huh? The end of buying games for PlayStation for me - at least, for the most part. I guess I'll still play some games from time to time but talk about destroying interest in a platform. Only Nintendo remains but for how long? blog.playstation.com/2026/07/01/p...
Obviously there's more important shit going on in the world than video games but jesus christ, me and so many of my friends have invested most of our lives into this hobby and this medium, and it's being ripped out of our hands by circumstances we don't have an ounce of control over or say in.
I'm just done at this point. PlayStation 6 is not for me youtu.be/5Remt5z9pjg

We remember Sony's brilliantly brutal "This is how you share your games on PS4" video, as PlayStation kills discs 13 years later: https://bit.ly/4eFjRBi
Let’s sum things up recently with PlayStation - Increased PS5 Prices - Removed over 500 movies/TV shows from PS Store - Still wants to Focus on live service games after a whole generation of failure with them - Closed Bluepoint - Stop Disc Production in Jan 2028 What a joke…
No gift options. No ability to buy codes from other retailers. No refunds. No ability to buy stuff second-hand. You will pay whatever price they set or you simply will not play video games on their platform, and you will own nothing. Really appealing business model there, Sony.
Seriously. Why is every single company racing to the bottom trying to alienate people as much as they can. The world is such a shit show and they all seem to be hell bent on making sure you won’t enjoy any part of it. I’m so frustrated, annoyed, and sad.

Absolutely gutted that the #PS5 will be my last #Playstation Console. I can't believe console will go the way of the #PC.
