🧵I've just seen an image on Pinterest declaring that #Trauma is not your fault but healing is your choice - and I have feelings about this. First of all, this strikes me as an incredibly privileged take. Not everyone is able to engage in trauma healing at any given moment, even if they want to.

A vital message for us all. True #strength recognises that our #emotions need to be felt and understood. They are forms of internal communication and necessary for navigating through life. I've had a reminder this week of how important it is to take time to listen to what they're saying. Cont.

Remember, we are part of nature. The reason "spending time with nature" is often helpful for us is because it taps into a very base knowing that we are connected with other beings. We are connected with them all and there's something soothing for our nervous systems to make contact with them 🌿🦆🦋🌖

We need to remember that mental illness is not the cause of nationalism, fascism, Nazism etc. Using terms like 'sociopath', 'psychopath', 'crazy' & 'dementia' to describe and dismiss some of the people spreading and/or enacting persecutory attitudes, views, beliefs and policies is unhelpful...(cont)
