A lovely part of being a public librarian is the constant discoveries. Even with access to galleys, advanced publisher catalogues, and being Very Online, *even then* I’ll walk around the stacks in the morning and see a book I’ve not heard of before. Scorsese and Robertson’s story?! This sounds FAB

I love My Cousin Vinny so much, and this scene in particular is utterly perfect. When Vinny elbows his cousin and says “Watch this” and she launches into this monologue, it sends chills down my spine it’s just so damn good!

I hope the young people continue to watch the ancient pictures. "Cause Chevy didn't make a 327 in '55, the 327 didn't come out till '63. And it wasn't offered in the Bel Air with a four-barrel carb till '64."

Right, so I’m not sure why but I’m watching The Exorcist II for the first time today, and I will say that much like the way this country is run I have no idea what’s happening. Locusts? Visions? Hypnosis? I mean I’m not NOT enjoying it

Breaking out this boxset ahead of the new Kill by Kill episode this week and ONCE AGAIN I keep thinking Catherine Hicks is actually Betty Buckley. Is it just me?? Also— bummed I didn’t get chance to visit the Child’s Play locations in Chicago this week while at ALA but, something for next visit!

I first started listening to podcasts mid-2020; had a very difficult July due to two major life incidents, and listening to Patrick and Gena brought me such joy. If you’ve not tried an episode— to quote Patrick— do it today, people! Thanks KxK ✨💕

Every year I host a “get ready for pride!” event at my branch— every year we receive abuse on social posts, flyers in branch get defaced, comment cards filled in, etc. Write to your local library board to let them know you support pride events and you support the work of library staff.

It's time for my annual reminder that if your library is doing Pride stuff and you like it, go ahead and let them and their bosses know you like it, because the people who *don't* like it definitely are

GREAT article. While I am excited to see original horror emerge outside of the studio system and then succeed, it mostly hails from young, cis, straight white men (or those who appear to be). Give me the same story of horror box office success from a woman of colour over 50 who works two jobs!

The YouTube-to-Horror Feature Filmmaker pipeline is very real, but we must acknowledge who has access to it in the first place. YouTube is not a democratized platform, and we're doing the next generation of creatives a disservice by pretending it is www.slashfilm.com/2181604/back...
