Pride is a Protest! On Wednesday, we picketed three hospitals that abandoned trans youth and their families. If hospitals can cut off one group of patient's care due to political attacks, they can cut off anyone.

We are disappointed @nycpride.bsky.social did not taken a stronger stance in line with community demands and the families of trans youth. Allowing them to march provides cover for the harm they’ve caused and fails to hold them accountable.

THIS HOSPITAL ABANDONED TRANS YOUTH + THEIR FAMILIES Mount Sinai ended healthcare for transgender youth—not because of medical science, but because of political pressure from the Trump administration.
Affected youth and families spoke out against the hospital bosses' criminal capitulation to Trump, despite New York state laws that are supposed to protect trans youth and providers.
Today Gender Liberation Movement, ACT UP New York and others held protests outside three New York healthcare monopolies that have cut off gender-affirming care to transgender youth: Mount Sinai, NYU Langone and Columbia-Presbyterian. (My photos are from the action at Mount Sinai in Chelsea.) 🧵
We mobilized about 80 people to three different locations. Proud of everyone who tapped in and grateful to the parents of trans kids that spoke.

Tr*nny? From Nancy Mace? Groundbreaking. In December 2024, weeks after Mace started her bathroom bigotry, GLM staged a bathroom sit-in where fifteen of us were arrested. While we were held, Mace showed up to the police headquarters and screamed slurs at us in her megaphone.

Literally every podcast I’ve ever recorded has more parents of trans kids’ voices in it than @nytimes.com ‘s Pulitzer-nominated podcast about gender care for trans kids. (Because mine have one (me) and theirs had none (none).)
