Those of us in the sandwich years understand the yawning gap in long term care coverage in the US. The state of Washington is running an experiment that, if successful, could be a model for others (like my home state of IL). It doesn't do it all, but is a good step. New: Chicago finance chair Pat Dowell has written to Mayor Brandon Johnson, saying a proposed ownership transfer of Chicago's privatized parking meter system to Stonepeak Partners doesn't have the necessary support to go forward. Stonepeak owns Omni Air, which conducts ICE deportation flights.
