Just the worst.

The actual harsh truth about MAHA is that it is an anti-vaxx, anti-science, pro-diarrhea conspiracy movement. It cloaks its arguments in abstractions about "big pharma" and "free speech" to generate *the exact op-ed The Atlantic keeps publishing*. Movements like this need to be fought, not placated.

Bojack Horseman is fake, 2 girls 1 cup is fake scientologist dreck, Liechtensteiner romance novels are fake, comedy is generally fake, celibacy is fake. Masscult under neoconservatism is inherently fake. Sorry to spoil your 'fun'.

While there are a LOT of people who created the fiasco in Maine and blaming any one person/group for it exclusively lets people off the hook who shouldn't be, horrible judgement by Schumer and the DSCC is right up there with the horrible judgment shown by national pundits and Maine voters alike.

I’ve drawn a lot of hackles for saying Chuck Schumer set the stage for the current fiasco in Maine. Now there’s proof. A solid candidate was ready to jump in until the DSCC told him not to—because it was betting the house on Janet Mills.

Political machines inevitably trend towards calcification and incumbent/power structure protection, it's just what the systems of deference and hierarchy that machines demand do. As much as that stability is desirable, eventually it will protect itself first over responding to voters.
