Visited Calumet Fisheries for the first time yesterday and bought a cut of smoked pepper and garlic salmon, and I think I'm ruined for all other smoked salmon for the rest of my life.

Lunchtime train of thought: "Why are there so many twentysomethings in scanty lacy things crawling all over downtow— ... ohhhh, it's the start of Lolla weekend." Batten down the hatches, Chicago. Thankfully I work from home tomorrow.

Is it time for me to mute the Wilson/Nolan caterwauling? Nobody needs to rise so strenuously to either's defense. She's got a hit book. He's got a hit movie. They're both doing great.

my real hot take about Emily Wilson's reaction to The Odyssey is that a lot of y'all sounded the same talking about Fennell's Wuthering Heights

Neither Amelia nor I has refreshed our memory on the story of the Odyssey. You could probably get a good "Drunk History"-esque sketch of the two of us trying to review what we know out loud, fifteen minutes before showtime.

How do I surround my head with an air purifier? Retreating from the office to at least work next to the one we have at home. This is the worst I've ever seen it in Chicago.
