If the Burnham government wanted a REALLY ambitious target to improve the life of the nation, it would be "Solar panels & aircon for your home for five grand, AND we'll lend you the money interest-free", and then building the infrastructure to deliver it.
Dave Andress@davidandress.bsky.social · 4h agoThe thing is, you can right now if you want have a combined solar/aircon install that will mean you are pretty much in profit on electricity generation forever after, and safe from a heatwave. But you have to own your home, & have five digits to spare.

Well in British Elections every count has a Lib Dem with a Spreadsheet so powerful that it could run the Large Hadron Collider who can tell you exactly what’s going on.

i know votes are still being counted but the more i look at this michigan senate map the more it becomes clear that it kind of looks like a mitten
the ceasefire plan is, was, and will forever be a lie intended to get the international community to pretend things were getting back to normal and that there was therefore no longer a need for mass protests or sanctions or any consequences for israel

there's a lot of people across the political spectrum who simply cannot process the fact that ethnicity is a social construct, that many ethnicities did not exist within the lifetime of living people, and that nevertheless ethnicity is an extremely real thing that ppl will kill or die for

The notion that without Israel all the Israelis would embrace their true wholesome identity as Europeans or Arabs or whatever is complete lunacy
