"I really believe this was the right move ... with the goal of sustaining a high-caliber level of play over many seasons."

Elias said Rutschman embraced the challenge of being the first pick in 2019. "This is an unfortunate reality of the business."
this might very well make sense according to the numbers but you can't quantify what this means to the fanbase. There are people on Reddit being like "WTF, I named my kid Adley." There was an expectation he would be here for most of his career.

The only championship Mike Elias seems to want to win is in the minor leagues. We are such a joke of an organization.
Ward being traded while this event is happening pretty much sums up this Orioles season.

Ward is the trade I most expected, and at least it’s to a team I’m already happy to root for during the postseason.
If we trade Adley, Elias should have to be part of the deal with him.
I’m so not ready for Adley to go anywhere. Please let him still be an Oriole by the end of the day 🥺
