If you were going to rec ONE book on any form of queer history (for any country or in any language), what would it be? (Or five. Let's be real, can any of us narrow anything down to one.)

For #WIPWednesday I have started making shoulders and a neckline! Pattern is The Big Ease by JSTDesigns.
What are people smoking when they say "yarn used in pattern: DK held together with DK = DK weight yarn."
One of the many bad things about August is all the marketing emails are about Summer! And I am mentally in Halloween and Autumn already. Summer is over. I need leaves turning colors and pumpkins and apple cider.
I have to graft 55 stitches (total 110) so I am bribing myself for every 10-12 stitches I get done I get to stop and not do any grafting for a bit.
Thank you for this! My cat had pancreatitis and needed several days in the hospital, and now I have a huge vet bill I can't afford. Every little bit helps! www.gofundme.com/f/healing-fo...

I expected to be anxious yesterday about going somewhere and doing something I'd never done before. I wasn't anxious at all! Turns out I just saved it up, and today I am anxious about literally everything, to the point I might have to call out from work. Yay.
Drove all the way to Salem (and then home again) to get my Cherokee Nation photo ID. Would have stayed for lunch, but wanted to get home in tiem for a softball game. But I wanted my ID jsut in case that man does something *else.*
I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful
So glad I have aged out of giving a fuck about Fandom Discourse (tm) of all kinds.
Hope springs eternal, I guess, because here I am buying another knitting pattern like I'll still be alive in 20 years to get around to making it.
I have successfully adulted TWICE today. Took the cans and bottles in to the bottledrop, and took my car in for oil change and tire rotation. \o/ Also, did some prep research for buying new tires next year. (Gotta watch for the buy 3 get one free sale.)
I would actually look forward to flying if I could select the "seat me next to someone who wants to share their niche interest with me" option. Unless their niche interest involves hurting a group of people, then no.
Note to self: when browsing for sweaters with Viking style cables, remember that the pattern is for the sweater and not the large Nordic man wearing it.

There are a lot of things I have no control over in order to secure my continued existence. But I am registered to vote, I vote in every election as my state has default mail-in voting. They send me a ballot and I fill it out and return it. I end up voting in every single election, even tiny ones.

Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between sad and tired.
I walk to the library to pick up my holds. I get back from the library with my held books. I check my email. The library has (more, different) holds ready. I should blame myself, but also I blame the library.
You know, if I were leading my wife out of Hell I would simply not turn around.
