"We are the last continent in the world to have bird flu, it's quite remarkable that it hasn't come here already...that's meant...that we have had time … to make sure we're as well prepared as we possibly can be." But very frustratingly, we are not, Minister Watt! www.abc.net.au/news/2026-08...

The Public Service Commissioner is in one corner trying to tell the Public Service Association what they can and cannot say politically, and then we have Mr CEO of the country using public services to get to and from party political events like that’s just fine and ok

Not for *government duties* for his role as leader of the National Party for a party *fundraiser* for the *election* Surely this is outside the bounds of what the Air Force should be used for?? Seems like an enormous breach of his access to public assets! www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...

Australia's federal Labor government just increased the installation cap for the small-scale solar rebate system from 100 kW to 1 MW "as part of efforts to supercharge Australia’s 'missing middle' and tap into the huge PV resource on factory and farm rooftops." reneweconomy.com.au/solar-rebate... 🔌💡

Solar rebates supersized as Bowen turns again to consumers to change energy game

I'm a bear of little brain, but in my book taxpayers should not be picking up the bill for any MP to travel to and from party political events, like election fundraisers or party conferences. Either they do it at their own expense, or from party funds. End of line. #nzpol

Hmm, I wonder if there's any correlation between the government deeming schoolkids to be unworthy of proper food/care/resources and kids acting up in class (who Paul Henry pretends to be so concerned about)? #nzpol

As schools reported throwing out nearly one in three Compass lunches late last year, the Ministry of Education looked into adding sauce to make the meals more appealing but shelved the idea over cost.

The bill raises serious constitutional and rule-of-law questions. But govt MPs (other than responsible minister) weren't prepared to stand up to meaningfully address the constitutional concerns and seek to justify the bill. Poor form. Seriously poor form. And constitutionally sapless.
