We’re hiring a Quantitative Ecologist (Internship)! ApexRMS is looking for an early-career ecologist who’s passionate about using data, models, and code to understand how ecosystems change including wildfire risk, carbon dynamics, species conservation, and land use.

In @geobon.org BON in a Box, a pipeline was working for every country except Austria. It turns out it's an issue created by the Jungholz region being connected to the rest of Austria by a single point, on top of a mountain. A topolitical (?) situation leading to an interesting technical challenge.

I'm always going back and forth between terra in R, rasterio and rioxarray in Python, or GDAL, but when all else fails, my old friend GRASS @grassgis@fosstodon.org is always there to do the job without memory issues, weird crashes or missing GDAL dependencies.

This week the Quebec Centre for Biodiversity Science held its annual conference. Our theme “mobilizing science in support of conservation” created a buzz among the 300 attendees from across our network of universities and partners in conservation and gov. Thank you to all who made it happen.
