Must say I'm a bit starstruck that the designer of the #Glasgow800 logo visited our exhibition @maryhillburghhalls.bsky.social! It's Mr Russell's design that sparked my interest as a child and my current fascination with the myriad variations on the coat of arms that exist 🤩🐦🌳🔔🐟

It was an honour to welcome #Glasgow's LordProvost, Cllr Dr JacquelineMcLaren, to the exhibition yesterday. The ceremonial chain of office made an impressive addition to the many interpretations of the coat of arms on show @maryhillburghhalls.bsky.social , even if it was just for an hour! 🐦🌳🔔🐟

You start to notice them once you look: carved in stone, tucked above doorways, or embedded in civic architecture across Glasgow. On Burnhouse Street, just around the corner from us, a Coat of Arms is carved onto the façade of the steamies. Dating to 1898, it reflects a time just seven years after
Got this cracking book during the week, full of incredible anecdotes. Opening line is "The City of Glasgow is undoubtedly the greatest city in the world." 💯
