GM and producer and music composer for Crudely Drawn Swords, lead guitarist for The Patient Wild, Game Designer for The Hallowed Walk and Trilogy, Programmer, Horse Trainer, dork-ass-loser and now apparently novelist?

The Redstone Rescue is a fantasy novel set in a republic that cares for and protects its citizens, surrounded by avaricious kingdoms. Is is my response to our genre's obsession with kings and chosen ones. Not a story of revolution, one that asks how a better world can be preserved.

Really weird to me how incredibly rich white men get to say stuff like "in three to four years we'll be achieving nuclear fusion from honey" and the stock markets go "wow, sounds great bro!" and the news just reports it with maybe a paragraph at the end of "critics say this is unlikely".

If women wore smart glasses, they'd be banned. (soigomaa/x) Think about it. If millions of women wore smart glasses, recording men's behaviour, conversations, comments, their driving & bar chats ... can you imagine the panic? Trust me, smart glasses would be regulated before you can say 'Meta'.

I'm afraid you'll probably see my book post a few times as the only way to get anything in front of anybody is to repost it repeatedly. Apologies if you're among the faithful few who sees it several times, I promise your experience is non-standard.

The Redstone Rescue is now available as an ebook, audiobook and paperback pretty much anywhere you would want to get those things, so I'm going to post a little bit about why you should read it if you haven't already (I get it, there are a lot of books!)

It's pretty cool to have made a physical book and it's also cool to have read The Redstone Rescue. If you're a die-hard paper fan (in the UK) you can now get my story of mystery, adventure, and romance, here. If you prefer audio or ebook you can find it everywhere (including here.)

My hand, a physical copy of The Redstone Rescue, and a whole lot of pink hydrangea flowers, indicating the photo was taken somewhere with alkaline soil.

The Redstone Rescue now exists as a physical object and I have a very small number of them available to sell through Turn Another Page. If you've been holding off because you really prefer paper, this is your opportunity: turnanother.page/book/the-red...

I hear Monty Roberts has died- here in the UK he was a lot of people's gateway to the realisation that horsemanship can be considerate of horses and so although he was a notorious liar (and not that great of a horseman IMO) his legacy outweighs him.

Raiders of the Lost Ark came out in 1981, but was set in 1936 - a difference of 45 years. If they made the film today, the same time difference would mean it would be set in 1981.

A visit to Brechfa forest from Abergorlech and it was disappointing to find all the footpaths still closed after the storm in late 2024. I suppose nobody has the budget to fix it and with the climate crisis pushing ever faster the environment sector is going to be running to stand still.

One of the forestry roads in Brechfa.Looking down the stream - the fallen trees here are all blocking the footpath on that bank.
