We need to protect Social Security for the next generation.
Todd Blanche: “I am not sure of the uproar of having a Border Patrol or ICE agent at a polling location. What's the risk?” Uhm, maybe because it’s illegal? Federal statute 18 U.S.C. § 592 prohibits deploying “troops or armed men” to locations where elections are held. An AG should know this.

When it comes to your children’s health, listen to doctors. Not a president who once told Americans to inject bleach. The American Academy of Pediatrics’ immunization recommendations have not changed.

Your turn: What book would you recommend to a teacher just starting out? Question from @biblio-phile.bsky.social 📙 #EdChat #EduSky
Been on my mind a lot in recent years: in education we tend to celebrate what is new—and it's good to try/experiment with new ideas, strategies, programs. But the second time you do a good thing, it is still a good thing. And the third time, fourth time, etc. Good is good.
What can you do with a history BA? The data tells a compelling story. 👇

Civil rights complaints against schools can no longer use data evaluations, called disparate impact analysis, as evidence of discrimination.

Teachers give students feedback with the expectation that they’ll apply it to their work and habits, says teacher Nicole Greene—yet, the process is rarely modeled for students. So she decided to make feedback reciprocal to model the process *and* help foster deeper connections. Win-win! 🏆️

Getting ready for a wonderful evening of civics conversation with Lindsey Cormack and Tyler Janke at the Missouri Civic Learning Coalition and American Public Square forum. #civiclearningweek @Mizzou
Teaching at the higher ed level, I'm so grateful to have taught middle schoolers for 15 years. At every level, our students deserve a level of empathy and grace that the world isn't offering. I can feel some of my students needing to be seen. That alone motivates the hidden curriculum in my work.
Excited to be a part of #civiclearningweek with @pbsnewsclassroom.bsky.social . See you on Monday! #comics #teacher
Tomorrow marks the 61st anniversary of Bloody Sunday in Selma, Alabama. It also marks the 60th anniversary of the Supreme Court first upholding the Voting Rights Act. We have gotten so, so far away from a Court that cares about democracy. New from me at @brennancenter.org:
The Bygone Era of Supreme Court Support for Voting Rights
Sixty years after upholding the Voting Rights Act, the Court has dismantled most of it.
