AI is the business of supplying the wealthy with skill while denying the skilled any chance of wealth.

Your email finds me at a very **** off time of my [day/week/month].
Most of what I do is fail to log into things, change my password, fail again, lock my account, email IT, unlock it, forget about two factor authentication, then rage quit and get nagged for not having done the five minute job two weeks later.
As a professor, most of what I do is log in to things
I have several papers submitted at the moment, two of which, both within leading journals, have been under review for 7 and 10 months respectively. I am feeling very calm about this.
Peer review is a necessary part of the academic process and I do not feel homicidal.
For all of those who wanted to get everything just slightly wrong enough to never properly understand anything at all, and still be bored to tears (that's a 'you' problem) while you do it.
“ScrollEd has built an app that allows the user to turn any text file — including dry PDFs or text books — into a feed that feels a lot like Instagram Reels or TikTok. As you scroll, the content shows up as AI-generated video, audio, text, or even interactive quizzes.”

On a totally and utterly unconnected matter, today my shit list just crested page two.
Thinking of naming your article [this ] As [ that ]? Don't do it. That is my sage advice. Contract As Promise? No. Either a contract is a promise, in which case say that, or you're just saying words with a preposition between them and doing no analytical work.

It was such a pleasure to discuss my @cambup-law.cambridge.org monograph, 'Statehood as Political Community' during the presentation of the 2026 IVR Best Book on the Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy. I am honoured by the award and so happy I got to celebrate in person.
Can anyone recommend me some really good philosophical work in anarcho-feminism?
Sweating so much in my poorly air-conditioned Hong Kong gym I lost vision in one eye. I call it Odin-maxing.
Oh boy, I just love it when expensive books are marginally less expensive! Here is one of mine, with a global economy-shifting 20% off, right up until 30 June 2027! Apparently it won some sort of prize so, you know, fill your boots.
A symposium in memory of Jürgen Habermas will be held at Goethe University Frankfurt on Friday, 19 June 2026, with contributions by Axel Honneth, Simone Chambers, Peter Gordon, Michael Zürn, Seyla Benhabib, Hauke Brunkhorst and Vera King: normativeorders.net/en/veranstal...
Given the systematic destruction of public reason being perpetrated by our new masters, the tech giants, I am increasingly disposed to vote for almost any leader who refuses to make announcements other than over state television broadcasts. (He said, in a statement on Bluesky.)

Does anyone have the faintest clue how to get in touch with author-side marketing at @universitypress.cambridge.org if your Author Hub account refuses to work? (Asking for an award winner who doesn't want to have to buy their own book to make sure it actually appears at the prize ceremony...)
This award is an unexpected honour - one for which I am joining pretty exalted company in terms of previous winners. Buy the book here: www.cambridge.org/core/books/s...

Congrats to Alex Green's "Statehood as Political Community", which has been awarded the 2026 International Association for the Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy (IVR Prize) for the Best Book on Legal or Social Philosophy. Published in the ASIL Studies in International Legal Theory series.
Been demoralising watching universities mindlessly embrace genAI "inevitability", mouth platitudes about AI ethics, principles & fairness even as it contaminates & degrades knowledge & infrastructure, undermines learning, erodes trust & creates massive burdens from all the above REFUSE. RESIST👇
Solidarity with Emily Tucker and her open letter to students. Tucker writes, "But the great thing is, you don’t have to go along with this, and I urge you not to. You can refuse to use the chatbot. You can tell your professors that you don’t want them to use it or to require you to use it."

For me, this effectively symbolises much of what is unimpressive about AI (yes, I know *this* is robotics, but still). Marginally improved speed with everything that matters entirely removed. A marathon without runners, pointless to its core.
Lightning, a running robot developed by Chinese smartphone maker Honor, finished a 21-kilometer (13 mile) run in Beijing in a stunning 50 minutes and 26 seconds, beating the human world record by more than six minutes. https://cnn.it/4mLRxQ8
