that characters need to be likeable or relatable. fastest way to create a world populated by bland paper cut-outs. characters need to be INTERESTING, and that can coincide with likeability but it's not the same thing

June White 🫀@cuntmoney.bsky.social · 9mo agoNever write about nature and the weather, because it's filler. Also, remove anything that doesn't further the plot. I like mood, and vibes, and setting. I want random, weird details and interesting thematic encounters that don't necessarily move the plot forward. Don't strip all of that out.
i do think that one of the fundamental errors a lot of people outside of fandom make is the assumption that 'i participate in fandom for [thing]' in any way shape or form correlates to 'i think [thing] is objectively good'
fascinating take considering that this is not something that anyone in fandom demanded or requested but instead - yet again - AI slop desperately being pushed at the masses in hopes of finding a market
