good morning βοΈ sorry I haven't been online! been busy with deadlines & holiday period busyness
not feeling as depressed right now thankfully, just a bit low energy. had a lot of brain fog over the past week or so mostly due to OCD flareups (also been so stressed by a lot of things, personal & global)

We need to very quickly understand that for journalism to survive the next few years, we have to directly support writers. If we donβt pay writers, billionaires will*. *Theyβll float just enough for loyal high profile op-ed bedbugs, and feed the news cycle to biased AI.

I just finished Gideon the Ninth (I read along with the audible by Moira Quirk). Great book and great narration. Definitely going to read the next book. π
anyone know how one can still be productive while feeling mentally awful. I swear my resilience drops to 1% if I'm feeling depressed at all. π I hate it

Maybe all AI does is just enhance the user's feelings of insecurity because it just deepens their inability, not grows their skill or intellect. Like, maybe it's made to cheat you of the knowledge you need to gain mastery over yourself
oftentimes I write characters that have anhedonic properties as well (it's what I relate to, & often it's hard for me to put myself in the shoes of someone not like that). But then when I'm writing those projects with these characters, I get confronted with the reality I experience
Let kids read things! The 5th grader that reads junk YA can also be the 5th grader that reads Shakespeare because no one told them they couldn't. * My weirdo parents actually would ground me from reading when I was bad as a punishment. I didn't need pizza as an incentive - I liked stories. π

In 5th grade I read probably dozens of Sweet Valley Twins & Babysitters Club books (junk) but ALSO read Shakespeare of my own accord because I was so enthralled with a high school production of A Midsummer Night's Dream I saw on a field trip.
